Days 53 & 54 – Your 100 Day Prayer – The Plan and Nothing Can Separate Us
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Snyder wrote, “Israel was in exile when this word came to them. God permitted them to be taken captive because of their consistent, stubborn rebellion against His good purpose for them. They just knew better than God.”
Since the first sin in the Garden, people have been stubbornly rebelling against God and living out the consequences. However, God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever knows that the best blessings come through a relationship with Him. No other blessings are better than those we receive when “we seek Him with all of our hearts.”
It is the Holy Spirit who gives us the desire to seek God completely, and through Him we have the promise that nothing in all of creation can ever separate us from God’s perfect love. Nothing!
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
“No pain, heartache, disappointment, financial difficulty, or any other outward circumstance can ever change the degree or intensity of his care for us.” ~John Snyder – Day 54
I’ve had plenty of times when I didn’t understand God’s plans for our family. Often I would whine, cry, and plead to get what I wanted. A few times, like the Old Testament desert wanderers, I stubbornly insisted I getting my way. Experience taught me, that the only real answer is to seek Him with all my heart, trust His perfect forever love, and accept that although His ways are not my ways . . . His ways are always perfect, for my good and His glory.
Please pray with me:
Father, Your plan for us is only found when we faithfully seek after you. When we selfishly focus on only our own wants, we can miss Your plans and blessings. When we focus our hearts completely on You . . . Your Spirit changes us and our purpose becomes clear. When our desires align with Your will . . . Your Spirit blesses us with joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, and love.
Father, thank you. Knowing we are Yours forever is a blessing that calms our fears and gives us courage. Grow our faith as we walk through difficulties. Encourage us through Your Spirit that we might share Your love and encouragement. In Jesus name, Amen.
