The Sweet Kiss of Friendship

The heartfelt counsel of a friend
is as sweet as perfume and incense.
Proverbs 27:9

I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves.
Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
John 15:15

So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with
God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Romans 5:11

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another,
for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7

Father, Thank you for the gift of friendship. You created us for relationship. We are most fulfilled when we share love and attachment with You and the people You place in our lives. Forgive us for the times we allow selfishness and pride to get in the way of pure love. Forgive us for failing to put our relationship with You first. Forgive us for failing to love our families, friends, and acquaintances the way You would like. Forgive us for failing to love those in need the way You want. Forgive us for wasting time on distractions which get in the way of our relationships.

Thank you for Jesus perfect example of love and friendship. Thank you for Your mercy and grace. Thank you for making us Your friends through Jesus life, death, and resurrection. Thank you for giving us hope through Your Word of truth. Help us to love in ways that bless people and glorify You. Help us to be good friends. In the name of our best friend, Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
