I'm so glad you're here.

Blessing counting leads to gratitude which leads to peace, contentment, and happiness . . . not from having what you want, but from wanting what you have.

What Does Love Look Like – Part 1

Close-up of red blood cells and germsLove cares about the well-being of others:

Mental
Emotional
Spiritual

God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8

God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17

Love looks like Jesus.

We find out what real love looks like comes when we get to know Jesus. Let’s see what Jesus said about love:

“Love your enemies.” Matthew 5:44

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 19:19

“Love the Lord your God with all you heart, all you soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” Mark 12:30

“So he (prodigal son) returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.” Luke 15:20

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. John 1:14

Then Jesus wept. The people who were standing nearby said, “See how much he loved him!” John 11:35-36 (After Lazarus death)

“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” John 15:12

We also know from many verses that Jesus:

Spoke the truth.
Cared for the poor.
Forgave sinners.

And that He was:

Humble and gentle. Matthew 11:29
Compassionate. Matthew 14:14

Love looks like Jesus.

And for the rest of the month we are going to look at how loving like Jesus will change our relationships. He commanded, not suggested but commanded, His followers (us)  to “love each other in the same way I have loved you.”

Living with intentional gratitude for His grace and love means setting our hearts and minds on obeying His commands. And if you’re thinking . . . I can’t love like Jesus, He is the perfect Son of God. Please remember that although it’s true we can’t love perfectly, with Holy Spirit help we won’t give up. We will do our best every day to love like Jesus.

Without excuses.

With repentance.

With forgiveness.

With fresh starts.

And intentional kind, caring, forgiving, humble, gentle, compassionate love.

I promise – loving like Jesus will change your life.
