The sword of the Spirit is God's Word and praying it will help you win the spiritual battle you face today. #Prayer #BlessingBloggers

I should have known it would happen. It happens almost every time.

And when I anticipate it, I seem to handle it better.

But this time, I wasn’t paying attention. I wasn’t prepared.

What’s “it?”

A spiritual battle!

I’ve been in a battle ever since I published the post — This is for You – the One Exhausted by Life.

Seriously, I felt pretty good when I worked on that post and yet, shortly after it went live I felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was in a funk.

The funny thing is … my life is good. I don’t have any obvious reasons to feel this heart heaviness.

Sometimes it’s the little things that start the funk. Things like…

Winter going on and on and on. Why in the world can’t the groundhog see his shadow when you’re counting on him?

The news is well, the news.

Fatigue makes it harder to cope with physical and emotional aches and pains.

And sometimes … the enemy just works overtime to steal our joy.

If you can relate … please join me as I pray Scripture against your spiritual battle because this fight needs Holy Spirit help and the full-on armor of God.

5 Verses to Pray that will Help You Win the Spiritual Battle

Satan is real and he loves to go to war against God’s children. The battle is real but the Good News is … you and I never have to fight alone.

John 10:10

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Father, Satan is at it again. It feels like he’s working overtime trying to discourage me. I need your help. I have so many reasons to be thankful and rejoice and yet, I feel disheartened and bothered. And I don’t know why! It’s easier when I can come to You for help with a specific problem but this time the problem is me and I don’t know what to ask for. Please work on my heart, Father, and help me turn my thoughts to You. Jesus said His purpose was to give me a “rich and satisfying life.” And He has! I am Your child. I have everything I need. Thank you! Amen.

2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

Father, thank you for Your faithfulness. Thank you for Your strength and protection. You are on my side in the battle, fighting for me. Guide and direct me by the truth of Your Word and help me anticipate and prepare for every spiritual battle. And Father, help me obey Your will for me. You are always trustworthy and true. I can count on Your promises. You are with me. I will trust You to arm me with the weapons I need to fight and win this battle. Amen.

Ephesians 6:12–13

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm.

Father, the truth is … I cannot fight this battle on my own. But with the strength and protection You give in and through Your spiritual armor, I am fully equipped. You give the truth, the covering of Jesus’ righteousness, the peace that passes understanding, faith that rejects the enemy’s lies, the promise of an eternal future with You, Your all-powerful life-giving Word, and the Spirit who makes it all work together in my life. Your grace is sufficient. Thank you! Amen.

5 Verses to Pray the will Help You Win the Spiritual Battle by Deb Wolf at Counting My Blessings #SpiritualWarfare #Prayer1 Corinthians 10:13

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Oh Father, how I love this promise. When I am tempted by sin, lies or distractions … You are willing to give me the strength and direction I need to follow You to safety. I face so many unpleasant consequences because I fail to keep my heart and mind focused on You. When the enemy attacks it’s so easy for me to look inward and feel sorry for myself or look at the problem trying to “fix” it. Forgive me! I need You. Help me remember that You faithfully go before me. You stand beside me. You are my rear guard. And Your Spirit is within me. I have everything I need. Amen.

Philippians 4:8

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Father, whatever I allow to fill my mind lives out in my words and actions through my attitude. When I think about things that are true, honorable, pure, lovely, admirable and worthy of praise … I am prepared for the battles that are sure to confront me. Help me, Lord. Strengthen me through Your Word and prayer and help me apply it to my life. Amen.

And finally…

Father, You give me all I need to prepare for the battles ahead. You give me all I need to live with victory. You give me the blessings of hope and joy in Jesus. You give me the power of Your Holy Spirit. With Your help, I am prepared and equipped. As I read through Your Word, I know that even Your most faithful followers struggled with discouragement sometimes. Thank you for Your Word, Your promises, Your help. With You, there is hope and joy! Thank you, Father. In Jesus name. Amen.

I’m so thankful God does not leave us on our own to fight each spiritual battle. What a blessing to know He wants us to pray about everything … the good, the bad, and the random spiritual attack funk.

We would love to pray for you.
