A Mother’s Day Giveaway You Don’t Want to Miss

Do you know a mom in need of encouragement?

Maybe it’s you and you just let out a sigh and said, “How did you know?” or “My friend, ___________, is so tired and discouraged.” or “My mom does so much for everyone else, I really want to show her how much she means to us.”

Ann VoskampSeveral years ago, Ann Voskamp wondered . . . How do we find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama, and daily duties? What does the Christ-life really look like when your days are gritty, long–and sometimes even dark?

Ann discovered that it is only through embracing the life we have, we discover the life we’ve always wanted…a life we can take, give thanks for, and break for others.”

How did she do it? She says, “I named daily blessings, literally counting everyday gifts – all the way up to one thousand – more!”

Ann wasn’t listing her huge house, new cars, or a life of leisure. Like you and me Ann describe’s herself as a “mess!” She’s the wife of a farmer, the home-educating mother to a half-dozen kids whose laundry and dishes are never done.

  1. I have tried to read this book in the past, a couple of times. I love her blog and her style of writing, it’s just a little difficult to get through. The one-week library express checkout is not sufficient time for this harried mama to get through such rich prose.

I’d love to be able to have it to read at my leisure, savoring each poetic morsel. I’ve even already started a Gratitude Journal, because I know what this book is about and what its purpose is. I just haven’t gotten a chance to read it all. I’d love for it to become a permanent part of my reading library.

  2. Congratulations to Esther! The winner of the Mother’s Day Giveaway!! Many thanks to each of you who entered. I’m looking forward to running giveaways once a month moving forward; so, hopefully you’ll come back for other opportunities at some great prizes.

Next month will be a HomeGoods Gift Card! Woo Hoo!!

Many blessings to each of you! Happy Mother’s Day!

  3. Hello there Deb. Just thought I’d drop you a comment on this post (seemed as good as any) to say that I’ve read a few of your posts and I’m enjoying the blog! Expect to see a few more comments from me! 😉
