I’ve been writing about prayer since I began blogging.
Since some of you are new readers,
I thought I’d start winding down this month-long look at prayer

Most passionate pray-ers say the more they pray . . . the more they want to pray.
The following quotes and verses inspired me. I hope they inspire you too.
If you’re in leadership you know that it’s impossible to make everyone happy,
and you may even feel like you’re gifted at making everyone unhappy.
Your pastor is trying hard. He’s doing his best, but he’s human
just like you with weaknesses and flaws.
His family, well they’re human too. They need you.
These prayers apply whether your family home-schools
or your children attend private or public schools.
Blessings that are important for all ages and positions.
One thing is certain . . . “This too shall pass.”
Sometimes those words are comforting. Sometimes they’re not.
By God’s grace, there is help.
He wants you and me to know that He’s already there.
Wherever that change is leading. God is there.
He will never send you on your own.
Your parents and siblings probably know how to get under
your skin in under sixty seconds. Which is why so many
people have a love/hate relationship with the holidays and family reunions.
And that’s just your side of the family . . . what about your “in-laws?”
As I look back on our years of parenting there is
really only one thing I would change.
I would pray more! Lots more!
I prayed for my children regularly, but oh,
I would pray more specifically and intentionally.
When I was a little girl, my parents, like many others, taught me the prayer,
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. However, they were concerned that the phrase,
“If I should die before I wake,” would frighten their fragile little flower.
(Understandable, since almost everything frightened me.)
So, they changed it…
You may know the A.C.T.S. prayer model.
I like this model, but I like the one I learned as a child better.
Father, It’s hard to give in and give up control,
to surrender my wants and wishes, my hopes and dreams to You.
It’s hard to trust when inside I’m screaming,
“Me! Me! Me!”
I walk with a limp.
May every moment you spend in prayer be a huge blessing!
