6 Ways Your Faith and Prayers Matter

Sharing is caring!

Your faith and prayers matter . . . sure they make a difference in your life, but they also make a huge difference in the lives of the people around you.

Am I the only one who writes a post and then thinks better of it and starts over questioning whether or not I’ve said anything that makes a difference . . . something that points to the amazing difference the Lord can make in one small life.

A life that can’t boast of any major accomplishments. A life that can’t really point to anything other than clinging white-knuckled to the One who pulled her out of the pit.

These first few months of The Faith Project have overwhelmed me. It’s hard to explain. I just know that every month I’ve been challenged big time.

It shouldn’t surprise me. That’s what the enemy does isn’t it? He makes us question things like freedom, wisdom, and love. He wants us to feel weak and useless, powerless and afraid . . . to doubt.

It’s the first temptation isn’t it? “Did God really say..?”

Did He really give that command? Does He really expect obedience? Did He really make that promise? Is He really able to keep it?

You know the questions. They surface when life is hard.

In the quiet when…

The past haunts and hurts.
Friends betray.
Old bad habits return.
A loved one is gone.
Your heart is broken.

And the enemy says, “Did God really say..?”

“I love you. I will never leave. You are forgiven. You are mine. Nothing can snatch you from my hand.”

I dig. I ask, seek, and knock. He answers and faith grows.

I’m trusting His promises a little bit more. Trusting His love not just for the world but for me.

He is who He says He is. He is able to do what He says. He will accomplish His plans and purposes.

I really shouldn’t be surprised that…

The Faith Project has been harder than I imagined and WAY more of a blessing than I’d hoped.

Your faith and prayers matter . . . sure they make a difference in your life, but they also make a huge difference in the lives of the people around you.

Friends…

Your Faith and Prayers Matter

Your faith matters.

Not just to you but to the people around you.

Your Faith…

Glorifies your Father who loves you.

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever. Psalm 86:12

Shines His love to others.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Shows the hope He gives.

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1

Displays His ability to strengthen.

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Reveals His peace that passes understanding.

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Helps you overcome life’s challenges.

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 1 John 5:4

Gives life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me. John 14:6

Your prayers…

Make a difference.

The Lord has heard my cry for help; the Lord will answer my prayer. Psalm 6:9

When a believing person prays, great things happen. James 5:16

Moves the heart of God.

But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors. And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. 2 Chronicles 33:12–13

Friend, you may be ending a really hard week. The week ahead may not look much better.

Remember…

God has and will give you everything you need.

Your faith and prayers matter . . . sure they make a difference in your life, but they also make a huge difference in the lives of the people around you.

Your Father who loves you. Your Savior goes before you. And the Spirit is always with you to help, comfort, strengthen and give you peace.

When you praise Him in the storm you give Him glory. You shine His light.

So when the days are hard. Possibly harder than you imagined. Hold on to your faith – dig deep into God’s love and presence. His amazing love and faithful presence are always more of a blessing than you could ever hope for.

Now it’s time for…

  1. Deb,
Thank you for the Scriptures and the reminder that our faith and prayers do matter — not only to us but also to others.

Thank you, too, for sharing 26 Simple Ways to Love on a Friend. What a blessing to be part of the Faith N Friends Blog Hop!

  2. Deb thank you for these reminders. It’s so true when we praise them in the storms we give Him glory.

Thank you for featuring me and thank you for the simple ways to love on a friend.

  3. Oh no, Deb, you’re not the only one. The enemy likes to wriggle his way in, and get his lies between our hearts and our heads. He uses our good intentions against us. Boo to him. Scripture tells us that God has given us a sound mind though, so joke’s on satan. Thank you for these sweet reminders that prayer and faith are powerful tools in the Christian life. Continued prayers for you with the Faith Project. ((xoxo))

  4. Thanks for hosting and sharing this awesome post! I am among the bloggers who wonder if what I have to say will ever make a difference in life…

  5. Thanks Deb for reminding us all of His truth and to dismiss the enemy’s lies. So often we get pulled off of God’s path for us, thanks for reminding us His road is always higher!

  6. I’m not surprised that this journey has been tougher than you had imagined, Deb. The enemy strives to conquer us at every turn when we are truly living for the Lord. Your faith and spirit shine through your words, though, leaving no doubt that God is doing a mighty work through you.
    Blessings!

  7. “I’m trusting His promises a little bit more. Trusting His love not just for the world but for me.” Sometimes it’s harder to trust for ourselves than for others, yes? But we can! Thanks for your encouraging words, Deb.

  8. I have been reading words like your opening sentence a lot lately. From seasoned wordsmiths and newbie bloggers and hearing them from the women I live in real life with. And I say them too. I said it the other day when I hit publish wondering why my words matter.
But they do.. and yours do… to someone that God has prepared ahead of time to read them. Even if it is one person who is blessed, that is a good thing. 🙂 I have to remind myself that it is not me who is moving the mountain, but God. Then my faith and my prayers take on a completely different perspective.
    Blessings friend!

  9. Deb, thank you for this word of encouragement. The enemy of our souls loves to make us think that nothing will ever change so that we will stop praying. We need to stay on our knees. Victory is ours, and the batlte is won one prayer at a time.

  10. Oh my goodness you are so not the only one!! I can totally relate, Deb. Know that you are a BLESSING to many and the Father is using you to shine His light to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear. <3 <3

  11. Deb, thank you for these encouraging words. It’s easy to wonder if what I do makes any difference at all. Some how and some way, my prayers and ministry do make a difference. I can relate very well to your struggles regarding your posts–that seems to plague me every time I post. Every. Time.

Any time we step out in faith, I think the enemy loves to attack. However, God is indeed faithful to His children.

    Blessings!
