Day 5 – God, I Need Your Help to Fight This Battle

| |

Sharing is caring!

We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

The battle is real my friends! You can feel it. Even as you pray for yourself and loved ones, you are wounded and weary. The enemy is working to defeat and discourage us.

So, today I’m praying…

Sometimes it feels like the enemy is winning but that's a lie. You and I need God's help, who won the victory already to help us fight this battle. #MountingMovingPrayers #Faith #Pray #BlessingCounter

God, I Need Your Help to Fight This Battle

Father, I need You! Please Help Me!

This battle is hard and painful and discouraging. My friends and family are broken and hurting. I’m broken and hurting.

So many are fighting physical, mental, and spiritual attacks.

Jesus said,

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 (ESV)

The thief IS the enemy of Your children’s souls. But I don’t want to focus on the enemy or the evil he is doing. Father, I want to stand on the promise an abundant life through Jesus who has already defeated the “thief” and won the victory.

Paul wrote:

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:35,37

Nothing can separate me from Your love. You have made me victorious! In Christ, I am more than a conqueror!

So, when I have to fight this battle … help me remember Jesus’ words:

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Father, You want so much more for me than a life lived like a discouraged battle-weary warrior. So, today I’m asking You to make me bold to fight this battle.

Solomon wrote … the godly are as “bold as lions.” Proverbs 28:1

And James wrote:

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Make me bold as lions.
Keep me humble and surrendered before You.
And Help me resist the devil and make him flee.

I have the sword of the Spirit, Father. I have Your Word. I have Your Spirit’s presence. In and with You, I have everything I need to fight this battle.

I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength! Philippians 4:13

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Sometimes it feels like the enemy is winning but that's a lie. You and I need God's help, who won the victory already to help us fight this battle. #MountingMovingPrayers #Faith #Pray #BlessingCounter

This is a true estimate of our situation, Deb. There are just some things that are too big to do alone.

  3. I love that this post made me feel like you know with all your heart, we must fight the battle. It is not “If” we fight the battle. You described the feeling of fighting so well!! Love you and all that you do to minister to His people!

  4. Oh, yes, Deb, sometimes I feel like a weary and wounded warrior . . . Thank you for these prayers and words of encouragement, reminding me that Jesus has already won the victory for all of us!
    Blessings!

  5. Thank you for this reminder. Sometimes, I’m influenced to put less emphasis on the enemy. Especially in today’s scientific culture if that makes sense. But this prayer rang true to me. I need God’s help and his protection. Thank you!

    1. I know, Stephanie. I think it’s one of the enemies greatest lies. Besides wanting people to deny God’s existence, he continuously tries to convince us he doesn’t exist. I sure know I need God’s help to fight his lies. The blessing is that there is so much peace knowing His truth! God bless you!

Hello. Seeking new employment is such a roller coaster of emotions . Not only for the seeker but got family and all involved. One can get disillusioned very easily. I need God to keep he focused and on track.

  7. This was a great reminder for me! Our family has been under an attack from satan like I have never experienced before. I am a firm believer in prayer but these past few months have helped my prayer life grow in my relationship with God and letting Jesus fight my battles for me! My situation has not changed and there are still many unknowns that can be scary if I take my eyes off of Him. I have been reminded of Peter walking on the water and when he took his eyes off of Jesus he sank. When I take my eyes off of Him, I sink in despair at the impossibilities of my situations that I am facing.

    1. Jessica, I am so sorry! Battle fighting is hard! I am lifting you in prayer this morning asking God to cover you with His peace and protection. He is fighting for you and we will be holding you up in prayer. God bless you!

  8. Jerry Lynn Tuders says:

My daughter is dating a man that is not what she needs. She worked with him on an ambulance and they had a good working relationship. She can’t separate the paramedic from the man he really is. This is the battle I am fighting and I know God will open her eyes to the kind of man he really is. Please pray for her to see him for who he is. I have talked to her about him, but he is so manipulative and cunning. He has done nothing but cause chaos and trouble since he has starting coming around. Please pray for her to see past the person she worked with.

    1. I am praying for you and for your daughter. God bless you!

  9. Pamela Lee Ransom says:

  11. Its great to see that we are all brothers and sisters, I really love seeing this. We are all humans and have a great trial in our lives and always do the right for your family and friends. It really makes the world a lot smaller, but good with all of the people of this world. It makes you want to go out and help someone else, protect them, do what is right, and make a smile on some one’s face that there is hope…and just maybe you can change their despair into hope and love…We had to let our dogs go, they were with us for 11 years, and now hopefully they find a home that will take them in. I am sure of it…

    1. It is a blessing to know the Lord made us family. I love the attitude of your heart, Carolyn. Thanks so much for visiting and for joining the conversation. God bless you!
