The Blessing of Faith, Friends, and Friday Favorites

The Blessing of Faith, Friends, and Friday Favorites @ Counting My Blessings by Deb Wolf

Yay! Welcome to the first Faith ‘n Friends Link Party of the 2o18!

I’m excited about using this space to share my Friday favorites, things (posts, quotes, pictures, and things I learned) from the week. This will also be my space to share guest posts and introduce to other wonderful faith bloggers.

So, let’s get started…

The Blessing of Faith, Friends, and Friday Favorites

I’m reading through the New Living Translation of the Bible with Life Application Notes.

For the first time, my goal is to read both the text and the LAB notes. Each week I’ll share my some of the verses and notes that made an impact on my heart.

My verse for the year is:

Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

I love the verse that follows, too:

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:34 (NLT)

And I wrote the following in my journal.

Don’t worry about details over which you have no control while neglecting specific areas (attitudes, relationships, responsibilities) that you are able to possibly improve. Concentrate on what God has given you to do and leave the rest to Him!

Good advice! Words I need to read every day!

While reading the account of Sarah and Abraham, I was touched by these words in Genesis 18:14

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

The LAB notes say – That’s a good question for any difficulty!

Next time there is a problem, I want to remember to ask … “Is this problem too hard for the Lord?” Then I can ask for His help and trust that He is more than able!”

My study this week has also focused on three of God’s names which strengthen and encourage.

  • Lahai-Roi — The living One who See Me. Genesis 16:14
  • El Shaddai — God Almighty. Genesis 17:1
  • Yahweh-Yireh — The Lord will Provide. Genesis 22:14

What a blessed reminder…

The Lord, God Almighty both sees you He will provide everything you need.

Praise God!

Friends, this is important…

If you like any of the pins or want to save any of the posts I share here, PLEASE click over to the sites and Pin the originals. Why not share them on Twitter and FB, too. My friends and fellow bloggers have worked hard on these posts and graphics. Every link back needs to come from their sites.

Why?

My heart’s desire is to bless bloggers by helping new bloggers get their name out there and help veteran bloggers get to know each other better.

I consistently hear from blogging friends about the loneliness of sitting behind a screen by themselves day after day. We can change that by getting to know each other beyond our pages and establishing friendships. And I’m working on something I hope will help to make that happen.

I’m so excited about it and hope to be able to introduce it to you here next Friday.

My Friday favorites, things (posts, quotes, pictures, and things I learned) from the week.

Wow, this is fun! What’s your Friday favorite?

I hope you’re looking forward to the new Friday format as much as I am! Here’s to the new adventures of 2018!

Now it’s time for…

Love the kickoff for 2018! Those same words, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” comforted me when I struggled through 6 years of infertility. Turns out, when I thought my situation was hopeless–NOTHING was too hard for God.

A great start for 2018. Your site is always encouraging and I look forward to seeing what you reveal next week. One of the posts that most encouraged me today was your Do You Want to be Part of Plan to Seek God’s Will. It goes with my word of the year, Surrender.

Happy New Year, Deb. I am fan of the NLT for reading through the Bible — especially the first time. Just finished suggesting that to a co-worker this morning.

Sending you warm hugs in this wintery weather! 🙂
