Happy New Year – An Exciting Ending and A New Beginning

Sharing is caring!

Happy New Year - We ended and began the year with our small town main street under water and that changed our plans. But we're livin' the adventure.

We live in Eureka, MO. You may have heard about us in the news this week. Our small town is under water.

We’ve experienced flooding before in the St. Louis area, (We are very thankful that our homes have always been on high ground.) but this one has been record breaking. Major highways have been closed and families are staying close to home if possible.

Our daughter and grandson stayed to visit for a few days after Christmas. They were planning to take the train home on Wednesday. But… the train between St. Louis and Kansas City is called the River Run.

Yep. No trains for now.

So, they stayed and we played. Grandma moments trump writing every time.

Please continue to pray for the many people who are struggling as a result of the storms and floods that have touched the Midwest this past week.

I originally intended to fill you in on my plans for 2016 here at CMB. I’m excited! I started working on this back in September.

No resolutions this year. No word for the year.

Something bigger. Something I’m praying will have an impact on my faith, and by God’s grace will bless yours as well.

Please come back on Monday, when I’ll introduce the long (for me) anticipated adventure.

Until then…

Happy New Year!

I’m praying your 2016 overflows with the best blessings
God has to give.

Now it’s time for…

  1. Deb, I’m so sorry your area has been hit by storms and flooding. We had tornados last week in the Dallas area. Grace to you this new year. thanks for hosting Faith-n-Friends.

I look forward to seeing what your new plans are!

  2. Wising you and your family a very happy new year! I love the picture and am glad you guys are OK, in-spite the town being submerged. Know you guys are in my thoughts and prayers… and I can’t wait to hear about this new adventure 🙂

  3. Happy New Year, Deb! I’m looking forward to see what you will reveal for us this Monday.
And I’m glad you had extra time, despite the strenuous circumstances, to spend with your daughter and grandson – such a cute photo! I will keep the victims of this horrendous flooding in prayer.
    Blessings!

  4. I’m sorry to hear about the flooding. I know you enjoyed extra time with the grandkids. Looking forward to hearing what you have planned for 2016.

  5. Deb, I’m sorry to hear about all the flooding in your area. It’s not fun to deal with at all. Enjoy some extra time with your family. I look forward to hearing about what you have planned for 2016.

  6. Deb so sorry for the flooding. We had so much of it here too in Texas this year after the drought. Last Saturday we had the tornadoes and lots of damage about a mile from our house. We are so thankful God spared us.

I know you are enjoying your daughter and grandson a little longer. Praying for all of you.

  7. Sorry to hear you have been in the flood area—but glad you managed to spend a little extra time with your daughter and grandson 🙂 Every cloud… Wishing you a safe and Happy New Year! Blessings to you!

  8. I grew up in the Kansas City area and just visited there over the holidays. It was all over the news about the flooding in your area. Thank goodness you and your family are safe and I’m praying for those who are affected.
