Chair, Throne, and How to Live a Fulfilled Life

Sharing is caring!

Love your easy chair, but don't want to miss the fulfilled life This will help you find out how to find freedom and enjoy life and love.

It’s good to be queen! To sit on the throne and reign supreme. Isn’t it?

I want my throne all comfy and cushioned, like an easy chair.

I want to relax, stay where life is easy, pleasant . . . comfortable. I want to surround myself with lovely things and enjoy stress-less days that I control.

I want the Lord to move over and make room for me.

Who am I kidding . . . I’d really like to take over completely (or at least I tell myself that).

The Truth

Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:6–11

God alone will fill His throne.

His throne is not an easy chair. Can you see Him on the throne that gives life? Thorn crowned. Nails. Splintered wood. Beaten. Bleeding. Suffering. Dying. And then…

RISING.

VICTORIOUS.

Now reigning – King of kings and Lord of lords. Alpha and Omega. I AM. LOVE. JESUS.

His eternal heavenly throne to replace my easy chair. His reign. My surrender.

The throne room of my heart. Where I can choose to sit at His feet and learn truth. Where I kneel before Him not rule beside.

You know, there is a huge problem for the “king or queen” who insists on reigning from an easy chair. They go no where! They’re stuck. And that’s not freedom. It’s fear.

There’s a problem for the “king or queen” who tries to share the throne. They’re frustrated. Disappointed. Confused. And unsatisfied.

Love your easy chair, but don't want to miss the fulfilled life This will help you find out how to find freedom and enjoy life and love...

If you’re looking for freedom. If you want fulfillment. There is only one way.

[Tweet “Get rid of the easy chair and replace it with a real throne. A throne with room for One.”]

A throne for Jesus.

The Best Part

Choosing to surrender reign to Jesus will give you freedom from fear. Freedom to be. To do. To get up out of that easy chair. To LIVE in LOVE. To be fulfilled.

I’ve been blessed to read…

Fulfilled – Learning to Live the Life God Promised
by Danise Jurado

This book focuses on freedom, restoration, hope and courage, all while showing readers how they can achieve a fulfilled life.

☻ Embrace the power of forgiveness
☻ Apply God’s truth to find freedom
☻ Break patterns of failure to make lasting changes
☻ Release the fear to live with courage
☻ Awaken to complete your God-given potential

Danise says of the book, “My prayer is that God would reach out through the pages and touch the heart, to the depths of the soul; the place no one else sees and bring the power of His life-changing freedom in Christ to every person who reads it.” (Interview with Kristi Woods)

Danise knows this journey. It’s personal. Her marriage. Food addiction. Baggage. It’s hard.

She says, “One by one, we come to God—young and old, wealthy and homeless. Not one of us is alike, yet we’re the same. We’re all learning to live the life God promised, and longing to be fulfilled.”

And with God’s help it can happen.

Through personal stories and practical steps Danise walks the reader through her years of growth and change giving very doable steps to take to know freedom, restoration, hope, and courage . . . to a fulfilled life.

Danise_Jurado1 A bit about Danise:

She has served as pastoral counselor at Angelus Temple and The Dream Center in Los Angeles, California. She is the director of The Dream Center Transitions Program, that reaches of 85,000 people every month through both residential and outreach ministries; helping people overcome things like addiction, abuse, homelessness and poverty. 50% of the proceeds of this book will be donated to The Dream Center.

A gifted speaker and teacher living in Santa Clarita, California with her husband of 28 years, Kurt Jurado. Her children are grown and like me she is enjoying the blessing of being a grandma.

I was given a copy of this book for review, but the opinions are my own. I believe this book will bless you. It is engaging to read, but most importantly . . . it is practical. Applying the action steps Danise shares, ones that come directly from God’s Word, will help you move forward on the road to freedom and the fulfilled life that God wants for you.

  1. “His reign. My surrender.” What a blessing if we can come to that place each and every day! Danise’s book sounds great. Thank you, Deb. I am your neighbor at Holley’s.

  2. Hi Deb! James Taylor has a lyric that goes: “we ache to seize the crown You wear…” I love it because it hits the nail right on the head.
Love the image you made to go along with the idea of getting off the ‘throne’ and running in freedom. Beautiful!
I’m also reading Fulfilled. I’m really enjoying it!
    Blessings,
    Ceil

  3. Thank you for this post Deb! It is the ultimate struggle. Turning over the throne. At least it was difficult for myself until I realized that everything was His to begin with. I want him to be glorified and to use me to bless and encourage others. Thank you or this beautiful post what a great reminder it was for myself today. God bless!

  4. I absolutely love the photo of the chair! I keep looking at it and it makes me happy! This looks like a great book! Thanks for sharing at Women With Intention Wednesdays!
