How’s your marriage?
How’s your marriage?
Good? Great? Not great? Not even good? On the brink?
I know when I’m struggling with anything it helps to know I’m not alone. That someone understands what I’m going through. It helps even more to know the person who understands is on the other side and willing to bless me with some hard learned wisdom, advice, and hope.

I recently read Choosing Him All Over Again – A Story of Romance and Redemption by Juana Mikels.
Author Elizabeth Elliot wrote the following:
[Tweet “I wish all those whose marriages are in trouble could know Juana’s story. “]
This excellent book is raw, honest, and filled with Biblical truth. Juana is true to the story saying:
I’ve written Choosing Him All Over Again the way I did, ending and all, because that’s the way it happened—to me. My story is a story of romance and redemption, with twists and turns that will leave you thinking at different points that you have it all figured out, only to find out that you don’t. By reading the whole story, you’ll be able to see how God mysteriously works over the course of our lives.
She begins Chapter One like this:
I VIVIDLY REMEMBER WRITING THE note that October night. It stands out in my mind as if it were written with a permanent marker. It was a defining moment, a pivotal decision. It felt like an awakening.
[Tweet “With a growing intensity, I decided that I wanted out of my marriage.”]
Did she draw you in? I’m not surprised she drew me in too, and held my attention throughout as she shared how the Lord pulled her close and changed her views on life, love, and marriage.
Juana Mikels wrote her own story of how God saved her marriage along with practical teaching on faith and marriage written out of her own failure, pointing us all to Jesus Christ who has the power to change lives and marriages. You can get a copy here HERE. Or on Kindle HERE.
There is also a FREE downloadable companion Choosing Him Bible Study Guide is HERE!
I’m thankful to have been part of the Choosing Him All Over Again Blog Team. The Mikels’ story is a blessing for anyone married or thinking of marriage. It’s one that makes clear that a “cord of three strands” is not easily broken. Visit Juana’s website where she regularly shares words of hope and encouragement.
Quotes about God and Marriage
“There is no more lovely, friendly or charming relationship, communion or company, that a good marriage.” ~Martin Luther
“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” ~Timothy Keller, The Meaning of Marriage
“I used to want the perfect marriage and it drove me to distraction.. because marriage is never perfect. The more I learned to find my satisfaction in God, the more satisfied I became with my husband and my marriage.” ~Barb Raveling
[Tweet “”Make it your goal to create a marriage that feels like the safest place on earth.” ~Gary Smalley”]
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:1–2
Praying 2015 becomes the best year ever for your marriage. I believe reading Choosing Him All Over Again will help you with wisdom, advice, and hope.
