I Love Baskets

HomeGood Basket

I have a thing for baskets.

Big baskets. Small baskets.

Fabric baskets. Wooden baskets.

Baskets with lids. Baskets without.

I love baskets.

Baskets help a home look neat and organized even when it’s not. Stack things inside a basket and pop on the lid – room neat.

I’ve told you . . . I hate to clean!

So when I walked into HomeGoods a few weeks ago, this basket had my name written all over it. I knew it would look perfect in the center of our patio table.

But after I brought it home I couldn’t think of anything to put in my basket other than this bird’s nest and a few flowers.

How would you use this basket?

I don’t want to use it as a planter because I’m afraid it will rust. Although, I could spray it with lacquer to try to prevent that from happening.

Here are a few wire baskets I found at Houzz.com.

Amazing isn’t it, how some see the basket half empty and others see it half full? Some see the hopeless, some hopeful. Even when things are less than perfect, if you can think of the good, the beautiful, the hopeful, you’ll be more than sustained. ~ Author Unknown
What is your favorite way to use baskets?
Do you prefer wire, wood, or fabric baskets?

  1. You need to put some of the birds’ forest friend in the bottom. Bunnies skunks chipmunks playing around in the bottom on some fake grass and add some butterflies and hummingbirds clipped to the handle. Otherwise its its chips in the bottom and dip (on a bowl) in the top. 🙂

  2. Chips and dip. I love it! 😉 I like your idea of sticking with nature – animals and such. Hmmm. Will have to do some searching and see what I can come up with.
