I Tossed My Post and Prayed – Fix Me Jesus

I started a post yesterday on the Commandments, obedience, and loving God.

The problem was that I kept thinking it would be something you would look at and keep thinking about the other people who should be reading it. You know, those sinners. The ones who don’t go to church. The ones who won’t follow the rules. The ones who aren’t “doing it right.”

We’re so quick to cover ourselves with God’s grace and lavish judgment on everyone else. Just think about the times you’ve read the headlines and decided who’s guilty and who’s innocent based on partial information. It’s so much easier to find fault with others than it is to take a good long look in the mirror at ourselves.

So today will you join me in standing in the corner with the tax collector:

“The tax collector, standing at a distance, would not even look up to heaven. But he beat on his chest because he was so sad. He said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ Luke 18:13

To help us . . .

Pray with me?

Father, Fix us. Forgive us. Heal us.

We are so eager to hide behind religion and judge others. We hate seeing ourselves broken and in need; so we decide which sins You hate and which are not that bad.

Father, Fix us. Forgive us. Heal us.

We are sinners. Not because we sin. We sin, because we are sinners. ~ R.C. Sproul

Father, Fix us. Forgive us. Heal us.

We want to trust You completely, but we foolishly rely on ourselves and those who tell us what we want to hear.

Father, Fix us. Forgive us. Heal us.

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time—to show us His grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:9

Father, We worship You. We thank You. We praise You.

You heal and forgive. Before we obey. Before we join a church. Before we do anything, You sent Your Son for us. You punished Him for our sins. From the cross to the resurrection . . . You fixed us.

Father, We worship You. We thank You. We praise You.

Help us live for You. Help us know Your will and obey. Help us to give You glory.

Father, Help us. Fill us with Your Spirit. Give us Your peace.

In the name of Jesus, our Lord and our Savior. Amen.

Hi Susie, I happened to turn on the movie, Joyful Noise, and was in the middle of writing another post when that song started. It quickly became a favorite. May become my constant prayer. Thanks for visiting and saying, Hi!
