If My People will Pray

I’m not going to tell how to vote. I’m not going to tell you how I’m going to vote. However, I am going to tell you to vote.

Aside from voting, I want to invite you to join me in praying for our country.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I’ve signed up to pray for the 40 days prior to the election. You can join me by going to:

IF MY PEOPLE 2012
While you’re there sign up to receive daily reminders and prayer prompts

from some of our nations most committed prayer leaders.

If you are on FaceBook you can like the If My People fan page for updates.

God is still in control.

Many Christians have joined the ranks of political pundits trying to influence the outcome of the election through their rants and raves. You will not find me among their ranks. I will tell you to vote intelligently. Do your homework and pray that God will guide you to vote wisely.

I want you to know that whether your candidate takes office in January or not . . . God is on the throne. He is reigning now and will do so forever. Pray and vote. Trust Him and don’t be afraid.

Pray.

Pray that by God’s grace faith-filled believers will humbly pray for our nation. Pray that we will unite in seeking our Father’s face. Pray that He will forgive us and heal us in the holy name of Jesus.

Amen.

  1. I’ve heard so many people say, “My vote won’t count,” and “Voting for the lessor of the evils is still voting for evil.” It distresses me that Christians aren’t planning to vote. I love the idea of the 40 day prayer for our country. I’ll be checking it out.

    1. I have heard those comments also. It is so important that we each use the gift that we have in voting. It is our responsibility as citizens of the U.S. and of the Lord’s kingdom. My dad has always stressed the importance of voting in our local elections too. So many of us will only vote if the presidency is on the line, but as important as that is our local representatives have the largest impact on our personal lives. Glad you are planning to pray and vote.

  2. Wonderful post Deb. I too have been praying and fasting for the candidate of my choice. Our country indeed needs to be healed. We are being warned from the scripture in Chronicles you quoted. We are at a turning point and millions of us will praying very hard. Please go vote and let your voice be heard. Our country and freedoms depend on it.

    1. Thanks Cathy. We are extremely blessed to live in a country where we enjoy so many freedoms. One of which is having a say in selecting our leadership. We want to cherish that freedom, pray and vote, and trust God to be in control. Blessings to you!

      1. I, too am involved in IfMyPeople – along with that, I include spiritual music playing all day, several TV Ministries sermons and I also signed up as a volunteer for my local Congressman who represents Christian values and Constitutional government. It is a great way to reach people who are undecided and need an informed decision.
