We have been given the inspired Word of God in the Bible. It is the power of God to remove fear, bring peace, and promise the hope of life everlasting. #Jesus #Faith #BibleStudy #Blessings

Do you have your Bible close by?

Pause for a moment, pick it up, take it in your hands, and take a really good look at it.

In many ways, it feels and looks like any other book you own . . . words on a page.

Now turn to one of your favorite chapters and read a verse or two. Maybe it’s Romans 8, Psalm 23, John 1, John 17, or something else.

As you and I think about the Scriptures, we want to remember that we are holding the transforming, mighty power of God to change lives and win souls for all eternity.

Paul wrote the following about this Inspired Word of God:

Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

He wanted the people of Thessalonica, and every one of us who have read or will read his words, to know that they are not just his own ideas and opinions. What he preached was the inspired word of God!

The Life Application Notes add the following:

The Bible you hold in your hands is full of real and living power. Its words are transforming lives all over the world every day.

I will never forget when I fell in love with God’s Inspired Word . . . the days, weeks, and now months and years when the Holy Spirit used it to pull me out of the pit of despair (Psalm 40:2), to give me the peace the passes understanding (Philippians 4:7), to remove my fear and give me strength (Psalm 112:7 and Psalm 29:11), and to give me hope for the future (Ephesians 4:4)

I fell in love with God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through the pages of His Word because from beginning to end I was filled with the truth of His amazing grace, undeserved mercy, and unfailing everlasting love.

It’s why I do what I do. I write because I want everyone to experience God’s love through the transforming power of His Word.

A Prayer of Thanks and Praise for the Inspired Word of God

Father, thank you for wanting us to KNOW YOU . . . not just about You but to actually know Your heart through Your Word. Thank you for Your inspired Word. Thank you for Your Holy Spirit who speaks Your Word to our hearts and minds. Thank you for using Your truth and promises and the power of Your Spirit to transform our lives.

I praise You for the blessings You have given me through the written Word. I thank You for the gifts of freedom, forgiveness, peace, strength, hope and so much more. I lift my hands in adoration to You for blessing me with Your grace, mercy, and love.

Lord, I close my prayer today with these words from the Book of Common Prayer:

“Grant that we may in such wise hear them [the Scriptures], read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of thy holy Word, we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of eternal life.”

We are humbled that You would sacrifice so much to have a relationship with us. I am humbled that You have allowed me to KNOW and LOVE You. I pray that I will faithfully thank and praise You every day now and forever. I pray this in the name of my Savior, Jesus. Amen.

I completely agree with these words from the LAB Notes:

All who read the Bible, truly SEEKing to learn, will be touched by its power. They will never be the same.
