Ultimate Blog Party 2013

Once again I am attending the Ultimate Blog Party at 5 Minutes for Mom. Yay!

Welcome! My name is Deb.

I first joined several years ago through the HomeGoods Openhouse Blog, newly restyled as Design Happy. I’ve been a contributing writer for HomeGoods its launch over six years ago. I’m an avid HG treasure hunter, and love to share finds and decor ideas on the blog.

Shortly after attending my first UBP, I became a contributor to the 5 Minutes sister site – 5 Minutes for Faith. Make sure to head over and  check out our awesome faith-filled writers and get some encouragement and inspiration.

My very favorite connection to the 5 Minutes family, is the opportunity I had to travel to Bolivia with a fabulous team of bloggers to write about the ministry of World Vision. In August of 2011 we spent a week witnessing the work of World Vision and sharing the difference Child Sponsorship makes for not only children, but also for their families and communities.

I became so inspired by my trip with World Vision; I became a Child Ambassador. Through CMB and personal conversations my goal is to connect children with sponsors who will provide $1.16 a day to give them a better life. If you would like to learn more about Child Sponsorship click on the photo of me with one of our sponsored children, Abigail, in the sidebar.

You can also find me at the CMB-FBPage and on Twitter @BlessingCounter. I’d love it if you’d come over and join those conversation.

Thank you for coming over for a visit. I’ve made the sweetest friends through CMB.

I’m looking forward to connecting with new friends through UBP. Please take a moment to say hello and tell me about yourself.

  1. So glad to meet you through the UBP! I will be reading more of your blog as I’m following via Facebook. We all need to remember to count our blessings!

    1. Hi Sara, Thanks for stopping by and introducing yourself. I love making new friends through the UBP. Look forward to getting a change to check out Embracing Destiny. Many blessings to you!!

  2. Hi, I popped over from the Ultimate Blog Party and what a treat to “run into you” as I have enjoyed you on Facebook as well. 🙂 So nice to see you writing for World Vision and Samaritan’s Purse – two of my favorite ministries for years!!! They do such great things to share the gospel with so many, while helping them in a wide variety of ways – and what a joy for my, my kids, and now my grandkids, to be a tiny part of that through such special things as Operation Christmas Child and helping during extreme crises and more. Thanks for a lovely visit!

    1. Hi Kaye, Thanks for visiting and taking the time to say hello. I’ve been super busy since the UBP started. I can’t wait to have some time to catch up with party goers and make some new friends. You are definitely speaking to many of us in the Sandwich Generation. It is a blessing to have three other generations to love on and encourage. Blessings to you!

  3. Hello! Love your heart for kids outside of the USA and your passion for change! My husband and I are missionaries in Ecuador and love getting to spend time mentoring students here. Nice to meet you!

    1. Hi Alaina, Thank you so much for visiting CMB. Traveling to Bolivia with World Vision was a blessed gift from the Lord. Being able to change the lives of children and their families is a wonderful blessing. Thank you for your ministry and for blessing God’s littlest.

  4. You are a blessing!
It’s amazing how many children do not have a family. And all they do want is love and care.

    Thank you for sharing you.
    Visiting from the UBP

Enjoy the rest of your week!
