10 Questions that will Make Tomorrow Better

1. What was today’s greatest blessing?

Make a list of things for which you’re thankful and praise God!

2. Where did I miss the mark?

List the things you did or didn’t do that you regret. Confess them, ask God to forgive you, and go to bed ready to face tomorrow with a clean slate.

3. What can I learn from today?

If God brought you to it or is working you through it, He has a purpose. Stop and ask Him what you can learn for your day.

4. Where did I find joy in serving others?

Do you love to cook? Did you linger with your children as you tucked them into bed? Was your evening blessed by a conversation with your spouse or a friend? Look forward to celebrating the joy-filled moments as you let go of the less than joyful ones.

5. Which moments do I want to remember?

Answered prayers. Goals reached. Love expressed. Make a list, start a file, or make a blessings jar. Keep track of precious milestones and memories . . . I promise revisiting them will make you smile!

6. What’s the most important thing I need to accomplish tomorrow?

If you know it and write it down you’re more likely to do it! This one is especially important for procrastinators like me.

7. What’s the best way to plan for tomorrow?

This is where you grab your planner: group things that can be done together, make a focus list, simplify as much as possible, and do your best not to over-fill your schedule.

8. What did I worry about today and what can I do about it?

Name it! If there is something to be done – do it! If not – give it to God and leave it alone!

9. What is my greatest fear right now?

Identifying a fear can begin to limit its power. Especially when you pray about it and trust God to give you the strength and courage to face it, work through it, and move beyond it.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91

10. What will I do to show love to the important people in my life?

There are so many little things we can do to express our love. A good place to start is learning the Love Language of your dear ones. Show them you care in ways that mean the most to them.

Ask yourself who needs your encouragement, thanks, help, and prayer. Name them and put a reminder on your focus list . . . or better yet, do it now!

5 Questions that will Make Next Week Better

1. What are my goals and what can I do to accomplish them?

If you’re like me, you’re more likely to meet your goals when you make them specific, list steps to work toward them and plan those steps into your week.

a. Professionally
b. Relationally
c. Spiritually

2. What will I do this week to encourage health in my family?

Plan meals, organize shopping lists, schedule exercise, and get regular physical and dental check-ups. Do things to make your health a priority.

3. What am I looking forward to this week?

Put some fun in your week! It’s ideal to try to add a little fun to every day, but make it a goal to have at least one or two each week. It’s easier to get out of bed in the morning when you have something planned that you love to do!

4. How will I set aside time to rest this week?

It’s so easy to over plan and over schedule! Make sure to schedule downtime as you organize your week. It’s important for your health physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

5. What Scripture verse will I memorize this week?

Write it down and carry it with you. Memorize as a family. Just think . . . 1 verse a week equals 52 verses a year!

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

Bonus Question to Think About…

How would I spend my week if I knew I would be face to face with Jesus at the end of it?

Live with an eternal perspective. It will help you plan. Fewer things will upset you and people will become more important than things.

I found this quote the other day that made a huge impact on my perception of time…

“Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to used during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course?

Each of us has such a bank, its name is time. Every morning, it credits you 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off at a lost, whatever of this you failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against ‘tomorrow.’ You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and health. The clock is running. Make the most of today.”

I want to make the most of each moment God gives me and make things with eternal value my priority.

Will you join me in making it a goal to live every day in the joy of His presence aware of His blessings?

  1. Oh, yes, Deb, this is one fantastic list and a terrific reminder to use the time God has given us wisely, in joy and with thankfulness for all He has done!
    Blessings!

  2. I love this, time is so precious, and we are so busy we don’t realize just how important the people and relationships of those we love truly are. Thanks for the sweet reminders.
I especially love the analogy to a bank account, I think I heard something similar a long time ago. It is so true, yet we squander our time. Thank you!

  3. These questions are great. I’ve been doing a lot of procrastinating and worrying lately that leads to day not nearly as productive as I would like. Definitely pinning this one to reference.

  4. Deb, these are great questions. I’ve recently purchased a new planner that has plenty of room for writing notes on the pages for each week. These questions would be good for me to use in my planner. I’m sure looking back on my answers later will remind me of blessings and of God’s faithfulness. Thanks for such good advice.

Blessings to you! I’m glad to be your neighbor today at #CoffeeforYourHeart!
