The last verse of yesterday’s chapter (Revelation 17) says:

This woman you saw in your vision represents the great city that rules over the kings of the world.”

Revelation 17:18

Many have shared that one of the signs of the End Times is the idea of a “one-world” system of governing. One of those individuals is Pastor Jack Kelley, who wrote the following:

Revelation 17-18 shows there are three components to the one-world system of the Last Days. There’s a one-world religion, a one-world government, and a one-world commercial system. All have been developing for longer than most people suspect and are rapidly coming to fulfillment. As this happens they’re becoming more and more obvious to the public. No longer just the realm of the fanatical conspiracy theorists, today only those who refuse to see are unaware of their existence.

Grace Thru Faith

In 2019, Pope signed a pact with Islam declaring ‘diversity of religions’ is ‘willed by God’, and the One World Religion Headquarters called the Abrahamic Family House is set to open sometime next year.

Some believe that the “one-world religion” will be imposed on everyone and that this one-world system will require complete loyalty to its beliefs and practices.

But God gave us a warning through the words of John:

I heard another voice calling from heaven,
“Come away from her, my people.
Do not take part in her sins.

Revelation 18:4a

Although it takes courage to stand strong for the Lord and the truth of His Word when we are surrounded by the pressures of the world around us, it is important that we remain faithful and trust God’s promises:

This is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.

John 17:3

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

James 1:12, 16–17

A Prayer to Stand Strong With Faith
in a One-World Religion

Father, thank you so very much for giving us Your Word. It is a beautiful history of Your ongoing love for the people You created in the past, the people living today, and all the people yet to come in the future. Because of Your great love, You made a way for us to be saved from sin. You sent Jesus.

There are not many ways to Your saving grace. All religions do not lead to You. Your Word clearly says that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Believing and trusting Him is the only way to know You. He said, “Anyone who as seen me, has seen the Father.” (John 14:9) He showed us Your love. He told us Your absolute eternal truth. He taught us how to treat one another.

Please forgive us for the times we are distracted by the lies of the enemy. Please guide us by Your truth . . . guide me by Your truth. Set my heart and mind on Jesus, the One who began my faith and who is able to perfect it. Please give me the courage to share Your love and truth in ways that make people want to know more about You. Fill me with Your love until it pours over me into the lives of the people around me.

Help me remember that You never change. Your truth never changes. Keep me faithful and focused now and forever. I ask this in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus. Amen.

When I made the commitment, a year ago, to write devotions and prayers to go with every chapter of the New Testament, I knew the book of Revelation would be a challenge. What I didn’t stop to think about was that I would be writing these difficult chapters through the Christmas holidays.

But as I’ve gone through these end times chapters . . . prophecies that we can see being fulfilled before us, I’ve realized that this is what Christmas is all about.

God who loves people so much that He gave up the glories of heaven, allowed Himself to become a fragile and susceptible infant and child, lived, ministered, died, and rose again . . . that you and I might live in victory with Him forever and always.

And I’m so excited! Tomorrow we start the victory chapters. I can’t wait! Come back each day this week and join me as we joyfully anticipate the end of the story.

Wait . . . it’s not the end, it’s just the beautiful beginning of a wonderful eternal future for God’s children.

On today’s note write:

God help me remain true to faith in You through Jesus even when the one-world systems come to pass.

May God bless you today and increase your faith and hope in Jesus.

  1. The whole one-world concept is so frightening to me, Deb, but I’ll cling to God’s truth in Jesus, trusting that He has already overcome this horrible nemesis that threatens the world. Perhaps, it is what has to happen to fulfill the Scriptures. I’ll cling to God’s Word!
    Blessings!

    1. It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it, Martha? I’m joining in you . . . simply clinging to Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith. Blessings!

  2. Even though I know by the Word that the one-world must happen in ordee to fulfill Armageddon, I hate it. I hate to watch as seemingly Satan is “winning”, though I know he can carry out only what God allows him. I hate to see the dark forces marching through the earth. I pray that our Lord would open the eyes of the messes so they would have to recognize Him. That they would have a chance to wake up from this deadly march and accept Jesus before it gets too late. Decades ago I had nightmares about the end times so badly that I was scared to go back to sleep. And now, here we are, living through the final chapters …

    1. I completely agree, Gaby! It is so hard to watch these events take place. What a blessing that the Lord wanted us to know in advance so that we might be prepared! I join you in praying that the Lord will open the eyes of those who cannot see that they might be blessed by the touch of His grace, mercy, and love.

  3. Thank you Deb. You’ve balanced well the truth and encouragement in the face of a daunting future.
