Having one of those days when your problems loom larger than your blessings? Stop for a minute and read through these quotes and be inspired.

Do you ever need a little extra inspiration to jumpstart feelings of thankfulness?

I do.

Some days are just hard and as I look around it’s hard to feel thankful in the midst of so much chaos and confusion.

But there is always a reason to be thankful. Always.

God is great. He is on the throne. He forgives and gives. If He did nothing else . . . nothing else besides giving Jesus as Savior, that would be enough to be forever thankful.

If you’re having one of those days when your problems loom larger than your blessings stop for a minute and read through the following quotes and be inspired.

25 Quotes That Will Inspire You To Be Thankful

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done. Psalm 105:1

Be Thankful – Defeat Entitlement and Discontent

“We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.” ~Harry Ironside

All of your works will thank you, Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you. Psalm 145:10

“You can’t be grateful for something you feel entitled to.”  ~Steven Furtick

Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17

Be Thankful – See God in Everything

“We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts.” ~Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7

“This way of seeing our Father in everything makes life one long thanksgiving and gives a rest of heart, and, more than that, a gayety of spirit, that is unspeakable.” ~Hannah Whitall Smith

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

Be Thankful – Trust God

O Lord, I am your servant; yes, I am your servant, born into your household; you have freed me from my chains. I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord. Psalm 116:16–17

“A thankful heart is one of the primary identifying characteristics of a believer. It stands in stark contrast to pride, selfishness, and worry. And it helps fortify the believer’s trust in the Lord and reliance of His provision, even in the toughest times. No matter how choppy the seas become, a believer’s heart is buoyed by constant praise and gratefulness to the Lord.” ~John MacArthur

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:57–58

Gratitude has a big job to do in us and our hearts. It is one of the chief ways that God infuses joy and resilience into the daily struggle of life.” ~Nancy Leigh DeMoss

So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son. Ephesians 1:6

Be Thankful – Make Today Better

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity….It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~Melody Beattie

In that wonderful day you will sing: “Thank the Lord! Praise His name! Tell the nations what He has done. Let them know how mighty He is! Isaiah 12:4

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.” ~Denis Waitley

The Bible tells us to “capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

So, take those negative bad day thoughts and replace them with something that will remind you:

  • You belong to the King of kings.
  • He loves you.
  • He is in control.
  • Nothing is beyond His ability.
  • Your future is secure.

That’s reason enough to be thankful.
