Day 7 – God, Help Me – I Need Your Perfect Peace

I spent far too many years as an anxious chronic worrier and although, by God’s grace, I’m so much better…

I still slip into old bad habits occasionally.

Maybe you can relate. Please join me as I pray…

I can be a worrier. Jesus said, "Don't worry!" So, today I'm praying and asking for His help and for the gift of His hard to understand perfect peace. #Peace #Faith #Prayer #MountainMovingPrayer #BlessingCounter
God, Help Me – I Need Your Perfect Peace

Father, It’s been so hard for me not to worry about this problem. I want it solved. Really, I’d like it to go away.

Jesus said, “In this world, you will have trouble.” John 16:33

But I don’t want trouble or problems or pain or heartache.

So, I worry.

But Jesus also said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” Luke 12:25–26

Worry is a worthless waste of my time and You have so many good things for me to do.

I’m sorry! Please forgive me for allowing the doubts of my weak faith to overshadow the truths I know from Your Word.

Truths like…

Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

You love me. You care about me. You know and want what is best for me even when it doesn’t feel like the best at the moment. Father, You see the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning. You know everything about me down to the very number of my days.

So, today I give my worries and cares to You, trusting You to replace them with Your hard to understand perfect peace.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 –7

And when I’m tempted to let my mind replay anxieties and concerns, please help me to focus on and trust in You.

You never forsake those who seek You. Psalm 9:10
All Your promises are true. Psalm 18:30
You promise to help when I commit my ways to You. Psalm 37:5
Everything You do is just and good. Psalm 111:7
I can trust You. Psalm 33:4

I will keep my thoughts fixed on You. I will, by Your grace and with Your help, trust You and Your promise to give me and keep me in perfect peace.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3

Thank you, Father. In a world full of chaos and clutter … You alone are my perfect peace. Amen.
