Late Lunch Blessing
Rev and I enjoyed a late lunch at our favorite restaurant yesterday afternoon. We were the last table at the end of the lunch rush which gave us a little time to visit with our server, Nikki. We’ve enjoyed her kindness before . . . she had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh, both of which she shares freely making our visits to Maggiano’s not only delicious, but fun too!
As we paid our bill we started talking about our grandchildren. We swapped photos and oohed and aahed over the joys of being grandparents. We told her about JJ’s miraculous journey from 1 lb. 9 oz. preemie to happy healthy five-year old little boy. Then Nikki began to tell us about a difficult time in her life.
She had tears in her eyes when she said, “I don’t think I could have gotten through it without God’s strength.”
We agreed.
No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; He’ll always be there to help you come through it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)
I know what it’s like not to have what I need. I also know what it’s like to have more than I need. I have learned the secret of being content no matter what happens. I am content whether I am well fed or hungry. I am content whether I have more than enough or not enough. I can do everything by the power of Christ. He gives me strength. Philippians 4:12-13
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
If you’re going through a difficult time. If you’re feeling like your current circumstances are more than you can handle. If you just need a reminder of how much He loves you. Let me share the encouragement we received from our conversation with Nikki.
God will never let you down.
God is always there to help you come through.
God will give you strength to do everything and anything you face.
God will give you peace, as much or more than you need, as you live in Christ!
He loves you today, tomorrow, and forever.
