The Most Important Testimony Ever – He is Risen!

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
No statement in the world holds more truth or importance.
You and I deserved punishment. Christ Jesus endured it.
The Spirit inspired Paul to write…
The wages of sin is death…
Romans 6:23a
And the Life Application Bible Notes say it like this—”the currency of sin is eternal death.”
Notice that he didn’t write “was death.” It is. Eternal death is what we deserve because we are all sinners.
But because Jesus defeated death and because He is risen, Paul could add…
The free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23b
“Christ’s currency is eternal life—new life with God that begins on earth and continues with Him forever.” ~ LAB Notes
When you and I KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST Jesus, we are given a full life blessed with God’s presence, plans, and purposes. Life that begins the moment we believe and lasts forever and always.
Here are some powerful quotes from people, like you and me, whose lives have been changed through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. People who have testified that “He is Risen!”…
“I became a Christian because the evidence was so compelling that Jesus really is the one-and-only Son of God who proved His divinity by rising from the dead. That meant following Him was the most rational and logical step I could possibly take.” ~ Lee Strobel
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3
“The best news of the Christian gospel is that the supremely glorious Creator of the universe has acted in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection to remove every obstacle between us and himself so that we may find everlasting joy in seeing and savoring His infinite beauty.” ~ John Piper
The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all.
Acts 4:33
“The joyful news that He is Risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, and sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.” ~ St. Augustine
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
“The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is one of the best attested facts on record. There were so many witnesses to behold it, that if we do in the least degree receive the credibility of men’s testimonies, we cannot, and we dare not doubt that Jesus rose from the dead.” ~ Charles Spurgeon
Because we belong to God through the blessing of our faith in Jesus…
- Our fear can be replaced with hope.
- Our weakness can become strength.
- Our discouraged hearts can be filled with courage.
- Our bitterness and resentment are replaced with forgiveness.
- Our self-righteous pride turns into humble gratitude.
- Our selfish hearts can begin to share God’s grace, mercy, and love.
All because God keeps His promises…
Jesus is risen! He is risen indeed!

Let’s pray…
A Prayer of Gratitude and Praise
He is Risen!
Father God, You promised to send a Messiah to save us. Many expected a Leader who would rescue them from tyrants and evil dictators. But Your plan wasn’t to save us physically from a temporary problem; Your mission was to redeem our sinful, broken spirits eternally.
I thank and praise You. Please help me grow in faith by spending time in Your Word and prayer. I’ll admit that it’s difficult to even begin to understand the concept of eternity. Everything in this life is transitory. Change is absolute.
That’s one of the reasons having a relationship with You is so very remarkable. You are unchanging. The promises You made in the past are pure truth forever and always. The love You poured over creation is the same love You pour over us today.
Thank you for inspiring James to write, “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” (James 1:17)
And the writer of Hebrews to share, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
Jesus came to give us a forgiven, holy relationship with You. Through His sacrifice, we can be forgiven and free not just for a moment but forever and always.
I give my all to You, as I forever testify with a grateful heart, “He is risen. He is risen indeed!” Amen.

Nehemiah wrote these words many years before Jesus came to save us…
But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love.
Nehemiah 9:17
It’s a truth-filled promise that will never change and never fail.
By God’s grace, you and I can testify with Max Lucado…
“The resurrection gives my life meaning and direction.”
Jesus gives our lives meaning and direction. He takes our broken pieces and puts us together, making us useful for accomplishing His plans and purposes.
One of the images I love to think about is when the Lord puts our broken pieces back together; there will be visible cracks and scars. But those are awesome blessings that allow us to shine the light of His love to the people around us.
The words, “He is risen,” are the promise that we will never be too broken to be redeemed by God. Because of His perfect, unfailing love, we are given a new life that begins the day we put our faith in Jesus and lasts for all eternity.
We would love to pray for you.

“He is Risen” takes on extra special meaning as our current pastor died yesterday, on Easter.✝️. He was 64 and had been fighting stomach cancer for a year. My husband and 2 other retired pastors have filled in this whole time. Only last week, did our pastor write to the congregation he is now in hospice. To think he wrote about the Resurrection promise and then died on Easter. Wow!🙏✝️
Alleluia! He is risen! Because of Jesus, we live now and for eternity. Beautiful message, Deb. Blessings!
