Make Your Day Better by Breathing in Wonderful
What does wonderful mean to you?
You want wonderful days. A wonderful family. A wonderful job. A wonderful vacation. Etc.
But what is your definition of wonderful? Does wonderful make you happy? Should it?
Why do I always have more questions than answers?
Whew! I’m just thankful for easy access to information. Let me share some things I learned with a little digging.
Wonderful (defined)
1. excellent; grand; marvelous: a wonderful ________.
2. exciting wonder; marvelous; extraordinary.
Simply put . . . something wonderful leaves you full of wonder.
Wonder (defined)
noun – a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.
verb – to be filled with admiration, amazement, or awe; marvel.
I’m curious . . . have we become so accustomed to technology and instant everything that we’re blinded to the wonderful?
Today’s challenge – I have a little more than a month until my next birthday and my goal for myself is to find at least one thing every day that is wonderful. Not on television, or my phone, or anything that has to do with this crazy fast paces environment.
I want to find wonder in relationships and creation. In kindness and God’s Word. In prayer and blessings.

Quotes and Verses – All Things Wonderful
“The more often we see the things around us – even the beautiful and wonderful things – the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds – even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less.” ~Joseph B. Wirthlin
O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. Psalm 40:5

“Wonder is a deep, profound experience. The typical secular education of our day makes us suspicious or callous to wonder. It seems so unscientific, so unsophisticated, and ultimately, so seemingly unnecessary. So they say. But to lose the sense of wonder is to lose one of the great beauties of life. Worship, on the other hand, exercises our sense of wonder. It helps us see things and hear things and feel things, that not everyone recognizes. Worship, in essence, is wonderful.” ~Hughes Oliphant Old
“Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? Exodus 15:11

Oh Deb, I love this! My 31 Day Writing Challenge this year is on Intentional joy. It started as finding joy and i changed it. So I completely get this breathing in instead of noticing! Love it!!!
“Wonder” is my word for the year, Deb, and I have focused on cherishing each nuance I observe or encounter. It is, indeed, a splendid way to live – ever in awe of the mighty wonders God displays before us each day and to take time to give thanks for them.
