When you need hope now and it continuously feels like it's just out of reach ... pray. These verses and prayers will help you turn to God the source of faith, hope, and love now and always.

Maybe, like me, you’ve had something you’ve been praying about for years but as time goes on … hope fades.

You need hope now but wonder if you should just let it go or continue to pray persistently.

Your loved one is still ill. Your pain is overwhelming. Your relationship is still broken. Your finances are a mess and you can’t find a job. You’re still waiting for a child. You __________.

That list of things for which we hope and pray can be long, can’t it?

Doubt and discouragement are the opposites of hope and are specifically feelings that fill us with anxiety and loneliness. So, if you need faith as you cry out to God to restore your hope and answer your prayer … let’s pray together and ask Him to give us strength and peace as He reminds us of His unfailing love.

When you need hope now and it continuously feels like it's just out of reach ... pray. These verses and prayers will help you turn to God the source of faith, hope, and love now and always.

Verses to Pray When You Need Hope Now

“For the Lord, your God is living among you.
    He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With His love, He will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Zephaniah 3:17

Father, I need hope now. My heart hurts. I’m discouraged and I’m afraid.

I love you, Lord, and need You to remind me that You love me. Your Word says your “goodness and mercy” will follow me all the days of my life. (Psalm 23:6) It says that You delight in me and promise to calm my fears.

Please replace my fear with hope. Hold me close and by Your grace help me to know that You are with me as I wait. Amen.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39

Father, is it true that nothing can separate me from Your love? No fear, no problem, no failure . . . nothing?

Forgive me. I’m so very sorry. I’m quick to listen to Satan’s lies and doubt You. I easily give him power over my thoughts as I begin to lose hope.

Please, by the power of Your Spirit, help me trust Your promises. Fill me with Your truth as I study Your Word and turn to You in prayer. I need hope now. Please, help me remember that I have everything I need when I have You. You are my Lord and Savior. You are my hope and shield. Amen.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
    His mercies never cease.
Great is His faithfulness;
His mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in Him!”

Lamentations 3:22–24

Father, Your love and mercy never fail and never end. I fail; yet, You are faithful to forgive me again and again. You don’t punish me as I deserve because Jesus suffered my punishment for me.

And because of Jesus, when I come to You in repentance You wash me clean. Through Your Spirit, You give me what I need to forgive those who’ve hurt and disappointed me. By Your grace, I have hope for the future. Please help me share Your love freely as I surrender my life to You. Amen.

The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of His understanding.
He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28b–31

Father, thank you. Your Word tells me that You hear every prayer and work in my life with wisdom and love. When I fall, You lift me up. You give me the courage to keep moving ahead on my most difficult days and help me keep going with strength and power when I’m weak, tired, and need hope now.

I cling to my memories of Your past faithfulness when I’m hopeless and cling to Your promises when I’m discouraged. You are the everlasting God – my Savior and my strong Deliverer. I surrender my life to You trusting that everything and anything is possible when You are in control! Amen.

When you need hope now and it continuously feels like it's just out of reach ... pray. These verses and prayers will help you turn to God the source of faith, hope, and love now and always.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:4–5

Oh, Father. Thank you for this hope-filled promise. I anticipate the day when there will be no more sadness, crying, or pain. A beautiful forever future where Your children are safe and secure all because of Jesus.

On my hard days, help me remember that I have all I need now and eternally because of Him. Your love, grace, and mercy make my life a song of praise. You are the One who is faithful and true, my Lord, and Savior … to You alone be the glory and honor now and forever. Amen.

When hope feels like it’s just beyond our reach … may we run to Jesus, confident that He is with us. We are never alone.

When we need hope now … we have God’s promises…

And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.

1 John 5:14–15

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

1 Peter 1:3–4

May the Lord be with you and give you the hope you need today, tomorrow, and always.

    Matthew 19:26, Mark 10: 27
…but with God all things are possible. My prayer is that God make it possible that my hope will never waver, never wither, never diminish, never cease. If we have that deep and abiding faith that with God all things are possible, we can continue in hope.
Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil. Blessings of continual and happy hope to everyone! Thank you, Deb for this message today! It truly strengthened and spoke to my heart!
And to my dear friend Sue, I “HOPE” you are ok…I miss your company here! Praying for you!

  3. Thank you for this post today. One that I have very much needed. It is harder at times than others. Parts of the month of May were difficult for me. I thought I had a glimmer of hope with one , but now wonder if it was sincere or to taunt me or mock me. Anyway, God has it all in his hands ; He knows the motives of this person. With God, there is always hope; even when we feel like hope is gone. I cling to God’s promise. No matter what the outcome, I know it is all in God’s hands. I am just thankful for this family and my spouse. They are all supportive and loving to me. A true blessing.
I appreciate that Kathy has reached out. Kathy, you are a good person. God’s love shines through you. You are very much appreciated.
Thank you, Deb, for this very much needed post today. God Bless You!!
