God’s Overwhelming Love and Unconditional Help

John Bunyan wrote…

“No child of God sins to that degree as to make himself incapable of forgiveness.”

That’s awesome news for anyone who is burdened by life!

Let’s pray the words of John…

But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

1 John 1:9

Father, thank you! You are gracious and merciful, forgiving and loving. You provided a way for me to be cleansed of the stench of sin … my own, other’s, and the world’s. The burdens we carry are all the result of sin or fear of the consequences of sin.

You love us so much that You sent Jesus to defeat the power of sin in our lives and invite us to come to You through Him. So, I come before You in humility asking You to please forgive and cleanse me. I need Your unconditional grace, mercy, and love. I need You. Amen.

Christ can take the most sin-laden, selfish, evil person and bring forgiveness and new life.” ~Billy Graham

Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!

Psalm 32:1

Father God, Your forgiveness satisfies my greatest need and gives me a future filled with hope. When I lay my selfish pride at the foot of the cross in repentance, Your Word says that You cleanse me completely and free me to live a new life in Christ Jesus.

You give me joy! You take my restlessness and give me peace. You provide everything I need to surrender my life to You in faith and live each day for Your glory. The blessings of Your love and forgiveness are greater than anything this world has to offer. Your grace is more than sufficient. Amen.

He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to His people, who live in the light. For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Colossians 1:12–14

That is Your unconditional help, Lord. You tell me I belong to You, that I am precious and loved. You treasure me so much that You made me Your child. You rescued me from the kingdom of the enemy and brought me into the Kingdom of Your Son and my Savior, Jesus.

Your love surrounds me as Your Spirit changes every part of my life. When I view the world through Your eyes … I see Your power and love at work. My discouragement is replaced with hope. My fear becomes courage. My faith reminds me that You are the One for whom everything is possible … You are the One who sets me free to love as I have been loved. Amen.

Matthew 6:31a, 33

Heavenly Father, You want me to learn from my past flaws and failures because it is those experiences that You use to make me a new creation. You want me to leave the past behind so that I can become more like Your Son, Jesus. You want me to SEEK You and Your Kingdom so that I might KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST You and enjoy the peace that passes understanding.

I give myself to You. Please work around me, in me, and through me that I might shine the light of Your love and the newness of life You want for me. I give myself to You. Please make me new within and help me look at all people and all You created with new eyes and a new heart. Amen.

For God has said,
“I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.”

So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper,
    so I will have no fear.
    What can mere people do to me?”

Hebrews 13:5–6

Oh, Father. You have never failed me or abandoned me in the past; so, I confidently believe You will never fail or abandon me now or in the future. Because You keep Your promises, I can say with certainty … You are my Helper. I will not be afraid.

When I follow the path You have prepared for me, You give me the guidance and strength I need. You protect and defend me in ways I may never know. And You bless me with peace I cannot fully understand. Your grace is all I need to live with faith for Your glory.

I thank and praise You. You fill me with Your love and bless me beyond measure. I love You, Lord. When I am discouraged and overwhelmed by life’s needs, I will trust Your unconditional love. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

No matter how you feel. No matter how badly you’ve stumbled. No matter how deep your pit.

God’s unconditional help for Your overwhelmed mind and hurting heart will never fail.

He promises to be the strength of your heart and all you need forever. (Psalm 73:26)

May the Lord bless you with His unconditional help … His grace, love, and forgiveness.
