5 Important Truths about Jesus that will Bless You Now and Always
Today’s chapter contains one of my favorite verses in the whole Bible. It’s one I cling to daily because it’s a promise that…
- gives me peace.
- removes my fear.
- fills me with hope.
- strengthens me when I feel weak.
- and provides a firm foundation for my faith.
What is this powerful promise?
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
5 Truths about Jesus
Jesus is the Word of Life at Creation.
In the beginning the Word already existed.
John 1:1–4
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
Jesus always has been and always will be.
Jesus is the Word in the Flesh . . . the Messiah, Savior, Redeemer.
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
John 1:14
Jesus is the Unchanging Word of Truth . . . the Way of Salvation.
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
John 14:8
Jesus will never abandon those who love and trust Him.
[Jesus] has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5
Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20b
Jesus is with those who love and trust Him . . . forever and ever and always.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
Revelation 1:8
[Jesus] said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.
Revelation 1:17b–18
Human leaders change their minds. They’re imperfect. They often sell out to the highest bidder and give in to the wave of popular opinion. And they come and go.
But Jesus…
Always has been and always will be the same. We can count on Him. We can be confident that He will always keep His promises. And I don’t know about you, but the truths about Jesus give me everything I need to live today with faith, hope, peace, and so much more.
A Prayer to Find Peace in the Truths About Jesus
Father, thank you for Jesus. Thank you for Your Word that tells us the truths about Jesus. Thank you for loving us all when we were still sinful and rebellious . . . for loving us so much You sent Jesus to save us. Jesus, thank you for loving us so much You came and suffered our punishment for us. Thank you for always being trustworthy and true. Thank you for showing us the Father’s love. Thank you for always being with me . . . for never leaving me or forsaking me. Thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for praying for me. Thank you for loving me.
Spirit of God, thank you for always being with us. Thank you for guiding me in the truth. Thank you for helping me. Thank you for giving me strength when I am weak and wisdom when I don’t understand. Thank you for growing my faith, giving me peace, patience, hope, and so much more.
Lord, I worship and praise You. I trust You and give myself to You. I love you with all my heart and soul. Please grant me the peace that passes understanding and help me SEEK You over anything else in my life. Connect my heart to Yours from this day on and throughout eternity. I pray all this in the name of the One who was, who is, and who is to come . . . the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
