How You Can Live Every day Without Fear of God’s Judgment
It’s easy to talk about God’s grace, mercy, and love.
It’s much harder to talk about His righteous judgment.
Yet, the next chapters of Revelation invite us to take a closer look at the latter.
I have to admit that when I began this journey of writing through the New Testament, the Book of Revelation made me anxious. As many times as I’ve read the end times prophecies, I still feel like a child unable to understand anything more than the smallest portion of what’s being told.
I’m thankful, the Life Application Notes give some very good counsel to all of us as we read, study, and take to heart the Lord’s message in Revelation:
“God has revealed all we need to know to live for him now. In our desire to be ready for the end, we must not place more emphasis on speculation about the last days than on living for God while we wait.”
With that in mind, let’s take a look at what John refers to as the “Breaking of the Seventh Seal” and the “Sounding of the Seven Trumpets.”
Jesus has already broken the first six seals of the heavenly scroll. The people on earth have experienced war, famine, disease, and death . . . but those who are in Christ have been sealed with His promise.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.
John 10:28–29
We don’t have to be afraid of God’s judgment. We are safe in the hands of the One who saved our souls and hears our prayers.
Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great amount of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God’s people as an offering on the gold altar before the throne. The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of God’s holy people, ascended up to God from the altar where the angel had poured them out.
Revelation 8:3–4
God’s people from Biblical times to the present have prayed that God would take action and right the injustices caused by evil. And the next verse promises that He will…
Then the angel filled the incense burner with fire from the altar and threw it down upon the earth; and thunder crashed, lightning flashed, and there was a terrible earthquake.
Revelation 8:5
God’s judgment is certain. But, it belongs to Him, not to us.
You and I can be confident that ALL God’s promises will be fulfilled. We can have absolute confidence that He is as just as He is loving.
And by His grace, we can be fully focused on loving Him and loving others.
A Prayer to Know that As God’s Judgment is Certain
His Promises are Sure
Father, I thank and praise You. By Your mercy and grace, I don’t have to be afraid of Your judgment. You have promised that I am safe and secure in Your loving hand.
The day is coming when You will reveal Your righteous judgment over all sin and evil in the world. Please give me wisdom and discernment that I might follow You with all my heart and soul. Please give me all I need to live with compassion and love knowing that judgment belongs to You . . . not me.
And Lord, I ask that as I anticipate Your return You will help me LIVE right now. Help me follow Your will focusing on Your blessings and sharing Your love. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Although, it’s true . . . Jesus said:
Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.
John 16:33
He also said:
“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!”
John 14:27 (TPT)
We can cling to Him in faith knowing we are forever safe and secure in His hands.
On today’s note write:
I will not be afraid of God’s judgment. I am safe and secure in Jesus.
May God bless you today and fill you with strength, courage, and the peace that passes understanding.

Judgment is God’s alone. May we live each of our days loving and worshipping Him, knowing all will be put to right in His time.
