7 Wonderful Ways For You to Share Joy and Be Blessed
There’s an old Sweedish Proverb that goes like this…
“Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow.”
Joy is not the same as happiness.
True Biblical joy is a gift of God, through faith in Jesus. It bubbles up inside of us and overflows to everyone around us.
And that’s how we share joy!
Pastor David Jeremiah says it this way…
“Christian joy isn’t always laughing, always having a good, hilarious time. Christian joy is the deep, settled peace that comes to live within your heart when you know that the really important things are all right.”
Joy is found in the presence of God’s grace, mercy, and love. Blessings He poured out through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
David wrote:
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of Your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Psalm 16:11
God gives joy. We receive it and with His help, we share it.
And one of my favorite parts about sharing joy is that it actually increases the joy we have within us.
So, with God’s help, let’s look at…
7 Ways We Can Share Joy
1. Be Faithful – Share Your Faith
Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
Romans 5:2
2. Be Hopeful – Keep an Eternal Perspective
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
3. Be Generous – Share Your Blessings
Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
Psalm 41:1a
4. Be Considerate – Lavish Others with Kindness
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
Philippians 4:4–5
5. Be Thankful – Bubble Over with Gratitude and Praise
May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.
Colossians 3:11b–12
6. Be Gracious – Show Mercy in All That’s Said and Done
Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
Colossians 4:6
7. Be an Encourager – Build up and Bless Everyone You Meet
Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
Romans 15:32
A Prayer to Share the Blessing of Joy
Father, You are so very good and gracious. Thank you for Jesus and for blessing me with the gift of faith. Thank you for the peace and joy You give me through Him. I worship and praise You.
Please forgive me. I am so easily distracted by the busyness of life. I so often rush from one task to another filling my days with activity and neglecting the people around me. Believing that I need to “do” rather than “be” robs me of the joy You want for me. I’m so sorry.
Please help me to keep my heart and mind focused on You and all that You want for me. Please help me count my blessings and make me mindful of all the reasons I have to live with joy. And please help me share that joy with the people around me.
Help me, by the power of Your Spirit, to pour out kindness, grace, gratitude, encouragement, and generosity. May everyone I meet see the faith and hope I have in Jesus. May they want to KNOW more about Him because of the joy they see in me.
Lord, You have given us more than enough love to share with joy. Please help us, help me, that we all might live for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
Have you ever noticed that joy-filled people are just more fun to be around? Are you ready to share your joy?
I’ve discovered that the more joy I share the more I enjoy. I never run out when I’m focused on others generously lifting them up with God’s grace, mercy, and love.
Paul wrote:
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!
Philippians 4:4
And he wrote those words while sitting in a Roman prison. Paul knew that joy is not based on what is going on around us. Joy is what’s happening inside of us.
So, when we’re tempted to grumble and grouse, let’s remember…
Jesus, the One who lives with us and within us is the source of our joy. He has made it possible for us to have a forever future filled with faith, hope, and love.
Let’s generously share the joy we have in Jesus . . . He promises to bless us by increasing our joy exponentially.
May your day be blessed with abundant joy.

Thank you, Kathy! Many blessings!
I want to be an unconscious vessel of the Lord to spread His joy in all the ways as you described Deb. Just as Jesus said that living water will flow through us when the Holy Spirit takes residence. This is my wish…so not for a second can I tap myself on the shoulder but all the glory goes back to God.
I want Him to be Lord and Ruler over my heart…let Him guide it, cleanse it and grow it in everything that is worthy and good.
Because of my husband’s and one of our puppy’s illness, we’re going through another faith trial….yet, he gave me the best B’Day present ever when during our conversation he said that – age and looks don’t matter. There is just something different about you. And I silently sent his words up to Jesus. Because I know that if there is anything good, or noteworthy in me that’s His workmanship and only He deserves the praises for it.
Yes, I attest to it that a smiling face, or a peaceful spirit, in the midst of life’s storms is a huge testament of anyone’s faith…. regardless how wobbly that faith may be.
Blessings my friend ????
This is beautiful, Gaby! Thank you so much for sharing it! I’m praying for you, your husband, and pup. I love your words . . . “I want Him to be Lord and Ruler over my heart…let Him guide it, cleanse it and grow it in everything that is worthy and good.” I want that, too! And I believe that is a desire He loves to grant! God bless you, my friend!
