How to Base Your Worldview On Unchanging Truth
Have you ever read or heard something that completely changed your worldview and how you live your life?
It may have been a word about…
- Animal Cruelty
- Child Abuse
- Genetically Modified Foods
- Pharmaceuticals
- Healthcare
- Climate Change
- Politics
- Or __________
We get information through books, articles, friends, teachers, “experts,” and internet searches … sources from which we form our ideas and opinions.
And those ideas and opinions become our beliefs and the foundation of our view of the world.
As we look at the cultural changes happening across much of our world, it’s clear that the information people consume ultimately influences and becomes their worldview.
That means it’s critically important to KNOW that the information we’re consuming is true.
I believe in “trust but verify.” And when it comes to cultural issues, I’ve reached the point where I trust less and verify more.
I hate feeling foolish and when I believe a lie … I feel foolish.
God has placed in me a need to SEEK and KNOW the absolute truth because it is the only thing that keeps me grounded when culture tells me I have to accept its ever-changing worldview.
Warren Wiersbe wrote…
“The world changes – circumstances change, we change – but God’s Word never changes.”
That’s one of the reasons I have a passion for spending time in God’s Word.
When our information comes from social media and we buy into every new thought that blows through our current trends, it becomes easy for us to bend or ignore the words of Scripture trying to make them fit worldly influences.
Adrian Rogers wrote…
“The Bible is a supernatural, spiritual, sovereign, surviving, sustaining, super-charged book about my Savior.”
I love that!
And it says in Proverbs…
Every word of God proves true.
Proverbs 30:5–6
He is a shield to all who come to Him for protection.
Do not add to His words,
or He may rebuke you and expose you as a liar.
If every word of God proves true, why is it so easy for people to reject it in favor of cultural trends and undependable opinions?
Maybe it’s because we are still listening to the enemy hiss, “Did God really say..?”
What if we took that as a challenge to test everything we hear against the truth of God’s Word? Doubts and questions aren’t problems if we take them to the Lord and ask, seek, and knock to find His truth.
God graciously gave us His truth because He wants us to KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST Him.
He wants to be our constant in this world that is constantly changing.
He said…
“I am the Lord, and I do not change.” Malachi 3:6
“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8
When you and I stand on the changeless Word of God, with the power and help of the Holy Spirit, we can confidently share the truth and encourage others with the blessings of His love.
Let’s pray…
A Prayer to Base Your
Worldview on God’s Truth
Father God, I pray that You will work in my heart and mind through Your Word by the power of Your Spirit. I want to KNOW the TRUTH that You have graciously given to us. You made it possible for us to KNOW the beginning of history and what to expect when You change everything through Jesus’ glorious return.
Please forgive me for the times I have allowed the world to distract me and distort Your truth. You have told us what You want for us and we only hurt ourselves when we ignore Your guidance and go our own way.
Please increase my desire to spend time with You in Your Word and prayer. Help me test the “truth” of books, articles, friends, teachers, and “experts” against the truth of Your Word. Help me cling to Your promises and follow Your will. And by Your grace, increase my faith so that I might LOVE, TRUST, and OBEY You to honor You in all that I say and do.
I pray this in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus, who makes all things possible. Amen.
A. W. Tozer wrote…
“The Bible is not an end in itself, but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God, that they may enter into Him, that they may delight in His Presence, may taste and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the core and center of their hearts.”
Knowing God Himself in the core and center of our hearts – not only changes our beliefs but changes our lives. That’s a worldview worth having.
So, let’s take time each day to read and personalize His Word (seek). Spend time with Him in prayer (ask). And Invite Him to change our hearts (knock).
Some parts of life will always change … but our worldview can consistently assure us when we build our views on the firm foundation of faith in Jesus.
Let’s take these words of Paul to heart…
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:2
God bless you. May He strengthen your worldview through His unchanging TRUTH.
We would love to pray for you.

Blessings, Deb!
A BIG AMEN, to your post today! My Bible and God’s Words within it, are all I will ever believe! There are so many views and false beliefs out there, it makes me dizzy! There are so many in deed that think they have it all figured out, but it is the devil hissing his false words, not God’s absolute Truth of His Word! I will never conform to these false fables that are being spewed out from everywhere, even from some churches! Loved what you said, “trust less and verify more!” I feel the same exact way! My worldview is God’ s Word!
One of my fav quotes by Charles Spurgeon…Truth is usually in the minority of this evil world. I thank God, what I believe, I shall believe, even if I stand alone. Hugs and love! Loved this post today!
“The only thing I am completely sure of in life—“There is a God!”
Kathy,
I was so glad to see your post. I have missed you and as usual, I have kept you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all is well with you.

What a great quote, Kathy! Thanks for sharing it with us. Even if I stand alone … I believe! Amen! Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend!
Amen, Martha! I’m joining you in that prayer! Blessings and hugs!
Amen! God please continue to help me grow in an intimate relationship with you everyday of my life. That you shield me from the worldly things, distractions, false Gods, false media and always seek, trust and knock at you for your guidance to do your will.
I’m praying that beautiful prayer with you, Ana. God’s richest blessings!
Deb,
I agree with you. And the one thing we can always be sure of it GOD’S WORD. I am so grateful I serve a God who is unchanging. I KNOW without a doubt HE can be trusted. Thank you for this wonderful post. You always are right on point.
God Bless You my friend! Hugs!
Amen, Sue! And thank you for blessing me with your kind encouragement. Hugs to you!
Deb,
I also want to say that so many people and customs of this world will let you down, but God never does. He is always available to us. Accepting us as we are and loving us even if we don’t make good decisions. God is forgiving, but people aren’t so forgiving. God is faithful and His promises are sure. I choose God above all else.
Hugs my friend and God bless you.
There is so much peace in remembering that wonderful truth, Sue. Thank you for stating it in such a helpful way. Blessings, dear friend!
