It’s Celebrate Children and Grandchildren Day
Every child is a unique and wonderful gift.
The brown-eyed curly haired wiggle worm.
The green-eyed redhead who loves to sing and dance.
The blue-eyed blonde soccer player.
The teen who dreams big dreams.
The toddler who talks and talks and talks.
It’s Celebrate Life Day – A day to honor our children and grandchildren.
The perfect day to be intentional, to notice and celebrate the things that make each child unique and precious.
10 Ways to Celebrate a Child’s Life Today
1. Pull out the baby books and photo albums and tell them how thankful you are for them.
2. Hide little notes and cards in their backpacks, lunch boxes, and around the house to tell them how special they are.
3. Make up a secret love word that is special just for you.
4. Hug and kiss them today and everyday no matter what.
5. Set aside time to give them your full attention.
6. Say “yes” as often as possible today, even to some things to which you might normally say “no.”
7. Point out something unique about them that you love (their smile or dimples, the way they dance or sing, their energy or giggle).
8. Make an acrostic out of their name. (Joyful Joshua. One of a Kind. Silly and Singing. Happy and Bright. Unique and Precious. Always, We Love You.)
9. Have a dance party with their favorite tunes.
10. Find reasons to giggle together.

I just had to nab the Max Lucado quote about our pictures being on God’s refrigerator! Yes, children are a true blessing! And, since we are children of God, the quote sure made me smile!
I love the way Max Lucado communicates God’s love for us. What a wonderful day to celebrate being God’s child and the children He has placed in our lives.
What great quotes, Deb! I loved all the children’s books Max wrote. Such wonderful tales and so many great truths! I still have dance parties with my kids, and they’re 21 and 23 🙂
I love that Susan! We had several dance parties with our daughter and grandson when we were snowbound a couple of weeks ago. You should see us all jumping around to “What Does the Fox Say” and “Move it” from the movie, Madagascar.
EXCELLENT dance party favorites, Deb! I’ll have to add those to the dance mix! Nothing more fun than when a family shares inside jokes 🙂
Thanks again for visiting my blog today. It’s always a blessing to make new friends — especially through amazing women like Susan Stilwell. As relatively new Grammy (my oldest granddaughter is 2) I appreciate your great insights on ways to love our children/grandchildren.
Blessings!!! I look forward to visiting again. 🙂
Cathy, thanks for visiting. Our grands are littles, too. One almost six, and one who just turned three. They are soooo much fun! I’m looking forward to getting to know you. Many Blessings!
