Many of us don't understand what's going on . . . we feel fragile and we know we need strength to face each day with hope and courage. Let's pray! #BibleVerses #VersestoPray #Strength #Blessings

Jesus met Paul on the road to Damascus and changed his life. Then as Paul was trying to process the whole experience, the Lord sent this message:

“Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Acts 9:15–16

I can’t imagine! But it was true . . . over his ministry, Paul was shipwrecked, beaten with rods, whipped, stoned, and imprisoned. There were even several thwarted assassination attempts. And God strengthened him through it all.

As he wrote his second letter to Timothy, Paul was in a Roman prison certain that he would be executed soon. He was right!

It’s a good-bye letter . . . an emotional telling of the things Paul believed were important things his dear “son” in the faith needed to hear.

And he got off to a quick start in chapter 1, encouraging Timothy and all of us with words of truth.

God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:6

Never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.

2 Timothy 1:8a

I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.

2 Timothy 1:12

Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

2 Timothy 1:14

When life is fragile and we need strength . . . the Lord’s reminds us, through Paul, to trust Him. He wants us to know we can remain confident because our faith is in the One who loves us so much He came to save us. He wants us to know that whether our faith is weak or great . . . we trust the One who is so powerful that no earthly experience can separate us from His love.

It is not the size of our faith but the power of the One in whom we believe. So Paul can say with confidence:

  • Don’t be afraid.
  • SEEK Him.
  • Trust Him.
  • Tell others about Him.
  • And find peace in His love.

If your life feels fragile and you need strength . . . let’s pray.

Verses and Prayer for Strength When Life is Fragile

Father, life feels fragile right now, I need You to give me strength. I don’t understand all that’s happening and honestly, I don’t know what to do. I’m fighting all the feelings of anxiety, worry, and fear. Your Word tells me “don’t be afraid.” Please help me. I need You. I need Your Spirit’s power. I need to feel an extra measure of Your love. Please give me the “self-discipline” to remain focused on You. (2 Timothy 1:6)

Lord, bring to my mind all the ways You have helped me in the past. The times You have protected me and given me strength. Please make me bold to tell others about all that You have done for me. Help me live out loud in ways that show people how very much You love them . . . how much You want to bless them. (2 Timothy 1:8)

I trust You! I believe that You will guard my faith and give me strength even when life is fragile. I believe You will give me everything I need each day until that beautiful day I will finally see You face to face. (2 Timothy 1:12)

Thank you for Your Holy Spirit! Thank you for the blessing of Your Word and for hearing me when I come to You in prayer. Please help me humbly run to You when I need help to guard my faith as the precious treasure it is.(2 Timothy 1:14)

Hold me close, Father. I know You are loving and faithful. . . willing to give me everything I need each day to live in peace because I am surrounded by Your love. You are all I need. I praise You. I thank You. I love You. Amen.

If life is fragile and you need strength, SEEK the Lord and trust Him to give You everything You need one moment at a time.

On today’s note write:

I will SEEK the Lord. He will give me strength when life is fragile.

May God be with you today and give you the strength you need to live in faith.
