Have you ever wondered how God shows His love? The Bible says He "is love" but what does that mean? How can we know? We know through Jesus who lived to show us God's character, love, and will. #Faith #GodLovesYou #Bible #WWGGG #Hope

The Bible says“God is love.” 1 John 4:16

But what exactly does that mean?

Do you ever wonder how God shows His love?

It’s important! The Bible says we should, “love others the way God loves us;” so, we need to know how God loves us if we want to love like Him.

We know He sent Jesus to die for us because of His love. John wrote the following…

This is how God shows His love to us: He sent His one and only Son into the world so that we could have life through Him. This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent His Son to die in our place to take away our sins.

1 John 4:9–10

But He also sent Jesus to live among us to show us what His love looks like.

John also wrote…

God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is Himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

John 1:17b–18

So, let’s look at the life of Jesus and the things He showed us about God’s love.

Jesus showed us that…

🖤 God’s love is undeserved.

But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8

🖤 God’s love is compassionate.

When He saw the crowds, [Jesus] had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36

🖤 God’s love is sacrificial.

God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood. Romans 3:25a

🖤 God’s love is personal.

Not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:30–31

🖤 God’s love is complete.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:19

🖤 God’s love is forever.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6

Let’s pray…

A Prayer to Model Jesus’ Way
and Know How God Shows His Love

Father God, You are love. Everything You have done and everything You do comes from Your goodness and love. You spoke the world into being and then You declared it good. Even after we gave in to sin, You never stopped loving us. You immediately began Your divine plan to save us.

We are undeserving of Your grace, mercy, love, and care. Yet, that doesn’t change Your heart for us. Because You are loving and compassionate, You sacrificed Your Son for us. Through love, He suffered our punishment.

Through Your Word and the power of Your Spirit, I can KNOW that Your love is complete, personal, and everlasting. My heart is overwhelmed by You. All I KNOW to do is to SEEK Your face, KNOW Your character, Love Your heart, TRUST Your promises, and OBEY Your will … doing it all for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

Culture defines love as a feeling. So, we often see that when the feeling fails love fails.

But…

Jesus showed us that God loves us completely with an undeserved, unfailing love that never ends. Love is not only what He does. Love is who He is!

A. W. Tozer said it this way…

“Jesus Christ came not to condemn you but to save you, knowing your name, knowing all about you, knowing your weight right now, knowing your age, knowing what you do, knowing where you live, knowing what you ate for supper and what you will eat for breakfast, where you will sleep tonight, how much your clothing cost, who your parents were. He knows you individually as though there were not another person in the entire world. He died for you as certainly as if you had been the only lost one. He knows the worst about you and is the One who loves you the most.”

Remember God shows His love in everything He does. Love is who He is.

So…

If you’re ashamed and feel unlovable … God is love!
If you’re in a pit of your own making … God is love!
If you’re struggling to get through the day … God is love and He loves you!

Whatever your circumstances, take heart!

No one loves you more than God. He sent Jesus to show you how much!

We would love to pray for you.
