I Am Not Ashamed!
I have seen with my own eyes the work that is being done in the name of Jesus.
I have seen World Vision Workers spend themselves completely as they care for the least of these.
The little ones, the least of these . . .
I have been asked since coming home, “Why doesn’t World Vision work in the United States?”
The answer to that question is… They do!
There are many domestic efforts being done everyday by the ministry of World Vision. However, it is not possible to have child sponsorship here because of privacy laws and the protection of minors act. Another reason why you don’t see us list specific details about the children we are personally sponsoring in other countries.
I am not ashamed to plead for these children.
I have seen poverty beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I have seen with my eyes and felt with my heart. I am no longer able to walk by on the other side of the road. I must do something.
And I am pleading not just for the children of Bolivia, but for the children of the world.

Rev and I sponsored a Hope Child in Kenya who lives in a community deeply affected by the AIDS epidemic. We added Jeremia, to already sponsored Miguel and Abigail and we are thrilled to be able to do so.
If you are unable to commit to $35 a month personally get your extended family or small group together and ask them to join with you. All it takes is a group of nine people who each commit to giving one dollar a week. One dollar a week!
Or sponsor a child as a family project. Teach your children about sharing. Give them an opportunity to correspond with a child in a another country. You might select a child who shares their birthday or any other special date on the calendar.
In all honesty, I’m discouraged.
For the past two and a half weeks I have poured myself out. I have traveled far and wide. I have climbed a rock wall. I have hugged mothers and children. I have shared their stories, but I am afraid that I have not adequately shared their need.
Before leaving for Bolivia I wrote a post for 5 Minutes for Mom titled, Moms Make a Difference. Moms are the same everywhere. They love their children and want only the best for them; however, in many places they are unable to give them even simple necessities.
Through World Vision, you and I can provide for children and families in dire need. We can give them hope for the future.
Please help me share this message. Please forward it to your friends and family. Please talk to your neighbors and small groups. Please share it on Facebook and Twitter. Please do this for the little ones, the least of these.
