Live Your Faith, Have More Fun, & Be Happy Now
I personally believe that joyful happy people have more fun and are more fun to be around.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find anything online that combines Christianity and fun?
Sadly, much of the world describes Christians as…
* Hate-filled hypocrites
* Fake
* Mean
* Delusional
* Annoying
* Narrow-minded
* Arrogant
The Urban Dictionary defines Christian Fun as being—The most boring things on earth to do. All those things that one would not normally consider fun, but to Christians they are fun.
Wow, I love to laugh and have fun! Rev has been making me laugh for 50+ years and the Lord has given us the ability to laugh in some of the most ridiculous situations.
You see, I believe…
God wants His children to joyfully laugh and have fun.
Psalm 128 says…
How joyful are those who fear the Lord—
Psalm 128:1–2
all who follow His ways!
You will enjoy the fruit of your labor.
How joyful and prosperous you will be!
Okay, I get it. There are a lot of people who believe that God’s ways are dull and boring. The enemy works overtime trying to convince us that living outside of God’s will is more fun … but the truth is, the consequences of many of those choices are simply NOT FUN!
Let’s look at some of the things Scripture writers had to say about having fun…
So I saw that there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work.
I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life.
Ecclesiastes 3:22a and 8:15 (Solomon)
I believe God wants us to enjoy what we do and also celebrate His blessings and have fun … not 24/7 but proportionately.
We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy.
Psalm 126:2
And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”
I believe God wants us to live our joy out loud and share with the world the good things He has done for us.
Jesus said…
I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.
John 10:10b
I believe Jesus had fun and celebrated. I believe He loved to laugh and that He enjoyed His time with friends. And I believe when we have more fun and enjoy time with our family and friends … God is glorified.
So…
What can Christians do to change their image?
- Smile and laugh more often!
- Spread enthusiasm and joy!
- Be positive and encouraging in person and online!
- Speak the truth about God’s love with love!
I know there are tons of problems in the world, but I don’t think Christians are really going to change anything by being critical and cantankerous. So, let’s have more fun, and maybe more people will want to know more about the faith we enjoy.
Remember…
Light shines, salt flavors and love attracts. A relationship with Jesus is meant to be joy-filled and fun.
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth.
Matthew 5:13 (MSG)
I’ve told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you.
John 15:12 (MSG)
Great relationships are fun! I think that’s why the enemy is working so hard to destroy our families and friendships. So, let’s lean into God’s truth and trust His plans because that’s the best way to live out joy-filled fun!
Let’s pray…
A Prayer to Live Our Faith
with More Fun and Happiness
Father, You have given me so many reasons to have more fun in my life. You have blessed me with a future and hope for that future in Jesus. You have given me family, friends, and faith. And You have blessed me Your Spirit who makes it possible for me to live each day with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Those blessings are the ingredients of a fulfilling and happy life. Please forgive me for paying attention to the distractions of the world and the temptations of the enemy. It is his goal to rob my joy and ruin my witness.
Please help me shine the light of Your love. Make me salty and someone people want to be around. Help me share Your love enthusiastically. Help me love like Jesus. Please help me live my faith in ways that give many the desire to know more about this joy within me. Your grace and mercy make it possible for me to have more fun and be happy. I worship and praise You for who You are and for all You’ve done. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
So, what do you think?
Are you ready to have more fun?
Start by making a conscious effort to shine bright and live salty. Smile and laugh and share God’s love.
Don’t wait for life to be perfect.
Rev and I have a saying we share often…
“I don’t want to lose today worrying about tomorrow.”
We could also say…
“I don’t want to lose today waiting for a perfect tomorrow.”
May God bless you today and give you everything you need to have more fun and share His love.
And if you have a minute, tell us some of the things you do to enjoy more fun in your life.
We would love to pray for you.

Christians should exude joy and laughter often, Deb. We have everything to celebrate and should share the Good News with friends, family and even strangers. Lord, help me to be the salt in this tasteless world.
Blessings!
I’m joining you and praying your beautiful prayer for myself as well. Thank you, Martha! Blessings!
There is plenty for all of us to be grateful for. The question is whether we are celebrating that fact…I choose God over judging others, being brought into debate and worrying about things I can not control. God provides me the strength to live this way and for that I am grateful. Thanks Deb for this messaging today!
Thank you, Michael. It sounds like you have a wonderful attitude to get you through each day. May the Lord continue to bless you and encourage you as you give yourself to Him in faith. God be with you!
