Promises are only as good as the integrity of the one who makes them and they only become powerful promises if the recipient confidently trusts that integrity.

David wrote…

For Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps His promises; He is gracious in all He does.

Psalm 145:13

Because of the Lord’s generational history of promise-keeping, you and I can agree with Dwight L. Moody…

“God never made a promise that was too good to be true.”

So yes, we can fully trust that God will always be true to His Word.

If He said it … we can believe it.

So, I’d like to share 7 of God’s promises that strengthen me when I feel weak…

7 Powerful Promises That Will Help
When You Need Strength

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:39

That’s how much God loves you and me. As Creator of all things, He controls all things. So, if He says nothing can separate us from His love we can trust Him. He sent Jesus to show us the truth of this loving promise.

You will keep in perfect peace
    all who trust in You,
all whose thoughts are fixed on You!

Isaiah 26:2

God promises that trusting and following Him in faith and obeying His love-inspired commands will give us peace. We can have confidence that there is hard-to-understand peace in His presence.

Let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Hebrews 4:16

Because of Jesus, God promises that we are welcomed into the throne room at any time. We can go to the Lord with our needs no matter how great or small and He will respond by giving us what’s best. That’s the blessing of mercy and grace!

Thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57

Victory in Jesus! Victory over sin, death, and the power of the enemy. This is God’s greatest promise of all. It’s a powerful promise that changes everything!

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

Do you struggle with fear and discouragement? You’re not alone! It’s a challenge for many of us. But God..! God promises to give us the strength and help we need. He promises that we can have victory through the One who is victorious!

You guide me with Your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny.
Whom have I in heaven but You?
I desire You more than anything on earth.
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
    but God remains the strength of my heart;
    He is mine forever.

Psalm 73:24–26

This is my favorite promise. When I don’t know what to do the Lord promises to guide me according to His will. He promises that we can count on Him today and always … even when our hearts are broken or our bodies fail … He will be with us to give us strength.

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory.

2 Corinthians 1:20

And the Lord reminds us through Paul, that every prophecy and promise made about the Savior came true is Jesus. So, we can be fully confident that every promise given through Jesus and the Apostles will be fulfilled in the Lord’s timing.

Let’s pray…

A Prayer to Find Strength Through
God’s Powerful Promises

Father God, when I am weak You are my source of strength. From Genesis through Revelation, You proclaimed Your promises and revealed Your power to accomplish them. You are so very gracious and good.

You promised a Savior and when the time was right, You sent Jesus to save us. You promised forgiveness and by Your grace, mercy, and love, You declare all who come to You in repentance … forgiven.

You promised to send a Helper, the Holy Spirit, and You generously pour Him out to all who SEEK, KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST You. And through Your Spirit, You promise to give all who have faith in You … love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. You give strength to the weak and hope to the hopeless.

Your grace is sufficient for every need! I have read of Your promise-keeping in Your Word, heard of Your faithfulness from people who KNOW and LOVE You, and experienced Your power personally.

You are Lord of All. You are my Lord and Savior. Thank you for Your powerful promises. Thank you for Your grace, mercy, and love. Thank you for Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.

“When God promises, He’s not saying, I’ll try. He means, I can and I will.” ~ James MacDonald

And that’s good news when we consider…

“There are more than 14,000 promises in the Bible – God has not broken one of them.” ~ Author Unknown

So, may we faithfully remember…

“There is no more blessed way of living, than the life of faith based upon a covenant-keeping God – to know that we have no care, for He cares for us; that we need have no fear, except to fear Him; that we need have no troubles, because we have cast our burdens upon the Lord, and are conscious that He will sustain us.” ~ Charles Spurgeon
