We know we need to trust God through Jesus for salvation, but what about trusting the Lord with our todays and tomorrows? God sent Jesus and proved that He can be trusted to keep His promises always.

You and I say we want to trust God, but what does trusting Him really mean?

We know we need to trust God through Jesus for salvation, but what about trusting the Lord with our todays and tomorrows?

The dictionary defines trust as confidence in the integrity, ability, strength, and promises of a person or thing.

I believe that’s why, once trust has been lost, it is so difficult to restore. A broken trust births doubt that defeats confidence. And that explains why the enemy of our souls works incessantly to instill doubt and disbelief in us. He wants people to believe they can’t rely on God’s loving care, justifying their fear and anxiety about the present and the future.

But the Bible assures us that the enemy is a liar. Jesus came here to overcome him and the sin he promotes, proving that God keeps His promises.

Jesus said…

“I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

John 16:33 (CSB)

So, let’s go to the Lord in prayer. We know we need to trust God through Jesus for salvation, but what about trusting the Lord with our todays and tomorrows? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live with confidence every day, trusting that the Lord defines integrity? He is strong and able, and He always keeps His promises.

We know we need to trust God through Jesus for salvation, but what about trusting the Lord with our todays and tomorrows? God sent Jesus and proved that He can be trusted to keep His promises always.

Verses to Pray and Trust God Now and Always

If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t He also give us everything else?

Romans 8:31b–32

Heavenly Father, You created us and a perfect world for us to live in, all because of Your love. Your Word says that You never change and that You are for us. So much so that when we surrendered to the enemy’s temptation and fell into sin, You had a plan to save us through Jesus.

We are saved by grace alone through faith in Him. Whatever the world throws our way, we are forever secure. Jesus is everything we need now and always.

Because of Jesus, I am confident I can trust Your promise to forgive me today, giving me strength for tomorrow, hard-to-understand peace through every problem, and a life that lasts forever. I will forever thank and praise You. Amen.

Lysa TerKeurst wrote…

God, I want to see You. God, I want to hear You. God, I want to know You. God, I want to follow hard after You. And even before I know what I will face today, I say yes to You.

“O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for You!”

Jeremiah 32:17

Lord, You spoke creation into being, and You have watched over it every moment since. You gave people free will to KNOW, TRUST, LOVE, and OBEY You, although You knew we would sin and need Your saving grace.

I believe the promise that nothing is too hard for You. You gave everything for our forgiveness and salvation. You promise You will never leave us. You promise to give peace to all who surrender themselves to You through faith. You promise to give Your children every spiritual blessing they need.

You are Lord God Almighty, and by Your grace, I belong to You. Amen.

Tony Evans wrote…

God’s timing is always perfect. Trust His delays. He’s got you.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16 (ESV)

Because of Your gracious love, Lord, You hear my prayers and respond to them with mercy and kindness, helping me as I rely on You. Even when I don’t understand, Your timing is always perfect, giving me what I need when I need it most.

You are trustworthy, and Your Word is truth. When life is hard and the enemy tempts me with doubts and deception, please prompt me to run to You in confident prayer, like a child who runs to a loving parent with every problem. Amen.

Max Lucado wrote…

God has proven Himself to be a faithful Father. Now it falls to us to be trusting children.

We know we need to trust God through Jesus for salvation, but what about trusting the Lord with our todays and tomorrows? God sent Jesus and proved that He can be trusted to keep His promises always.

For the Lord your God is living among you.
    He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With His love, He will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Zephaniah 3:17

You are my loving Father. You have made Your home in my heart and given me all I need to give myself to You in faith. You gave Yourself for us because the love of Your children delights You.

When I trust Your love, my fears fade. I know that You are greater than my weaknesses and circumstances. Through the power of Your Spirit, help me “be still” and “know” I can trust You with every part of my life now and forever. Amen.

Timothy Keller…

Putting our faith in Christ is not about trying harder; it means transferring our trust away from ourselves and resting in Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek His will in all you do,
and He will show you which path to take.

Proverbs 3:5–6

Lord, You are Lord of my life. I trust You with all my heart. When I am tempted to rely on my own understanding, turn me around and remind me to SEEK You above all else.

I trust You to show me the way. You opened my heart to KNOW and LOVE You. You promise to lead me along the path of life … to guide my days and my forever future. All wisdom and knowledge belong to You. So, it is foolish of me to trust the ways of this world when You offer me so much more.

By Your grace, please help me resist the enemy and his lies. Help me surrender to You each morning and follow You along the narrow path of faith and life.

I love you! Yours is the kingdom, the power, and all the glory. You are Lord God Almighty. I worship and adore You. Amen.

Oswald Chambers wrote…

Faith is unutterable trust in God, trust which never dreams that He will not stand by us.

Praise God! He welcomes us when we say…

“I do believe; help my unbelief!”

Mark 9:24

May you and I trust God to give us everything we need to resist the enemy and live every moment by faith.

May we all trust in the Lord, knowing that no matter what might happen, He has our future and our best interest at heart because He loves us. Loved all the inspiration in this post today, Deb. Blessings!

    1. Amen, Martha! We can be so quick to doubt Him when life doesn’t go the way we want. But He is love and everything He allows comes through Him. May we keep our focus on Him now and always. He is trustworthy. Blessings and hugs!

  2. The quote from Oswald Chambers is utterly true!! God is the only one we can trust completely. You are so right too, when you say that once trust has been broken it is hard to restore. I know this from experience, as I am sure a lot of folks can attest to.
God is so wonderfully good and always available and in HIM do I trust. As the song says, “Trust and Obey, for there is no other way!”
I pray that you have a very blessed and safe, healthy weekend.
