How to See The Reliable Truth About Creation

Creation vs. Evolution - the debate goes on and on. I'm sharing the truths of God's Word and the reasons I believe God created and cares for the world out of unfailing love and faithfulness.

When is the last time you read the first chapter of the Bible?

The Holy Spirit inspired Moses to write the account of creation and through it set the stage for the entire Bible

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

And that first sentence of Scripture has caused some to reject God’s Word without pausing to take a closer look. They believe the idea of creation is based on faith and evolution is based on science.

I believe that with all the unexplained gaps in the evolutionary theory, it takes as much or more faith to believe that all living things evolved from a source of simple organic cells than it does to believe in a Holy God’s creative power.

The Encyclopedia Brittanica says…

The diversity of the living world is staggering. More than 2 million existing species of organisms have been named and described; many more remain to be discovered—from 10 million to 30 million, according to some estimates.

I believe with all of that variety in animals and plants on Earth along with all the amazing things we’ve learned about the Universe above us . . . we have countless reasons to praise the God who created it all.

Look at this quote from A Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel…

“If God so precisely and carefully and lovingly and amazingly constructed a mind-boggling habitat for His creatures, then it would be natural for Him to want them to explore it, to measure it, to investigate it, to appreciate it, to be inspired by it – and ultimately, and most importantly, to find Him through it.

The writer of Psalm 104 would agree…

Let all that I am praise the Lord.
O Lord my God, how great You are!

Psalm 104:1

You stretch out the starry heavens. (v. 2)
You placed the world on its foundation. (v. 5)
You clothed the earth with water. (v. 6)
Mountains rose and valleys sank. (v. 8)
Birds nest and sing. (v. 12)
Grass grows for livestock and plants for people. (v. 14)
You made the sun and moon. (v. 19)

O Lord, what a variety of things You have made!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your creatures.

Psalm 104:24

God wants us to KNOW that He not only created the world and all it contains. He wants us to be assured that He provides for it as well.

Think about it . . . too much or too little sunlight hinders plant growth, too much or too little rain destroys life, and even the air has to have the right combination of nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor, argon, and carbon dioxide for us to breathe and live.

All of life, everything God created, is dependent upon His grace, mercy, and love. When we look closely we can’t help but recognize that His grace, mercy, and love are evident in everything He created and in everything He does to preserve it.

I believe the Bible gives us the reliable truth about creation.

Creation vs. Evolution - the debate goes on and on. I'm sharing the truths of God's Word and the reasons I believe God created and cares for the world out of unfailing love and faithfulness.

Let’s pray…

A Prayer of Praise for God’s Creation

Father, thank you so very much for creating this beautiful world for us. You filled it with everything we need to thrive . . . food to eat, provision for shelter, and beauty to enjoy. You filled it with gorgeous colors, wonderful sounds, and interesting shapes and sizes. Your grace, mercy, and love are evident in everything You made and all You do.

Please forgive us for failing to be good caretakers of Your world. We are self-indulgent and short-sighted in the ways we use and care for the things You have given us. Please give us the wisdom and love we need to care for ourselves, each other, our communities, nations, and the world as a whole.

Your Word says that through everything You made, we can clearly see Your invisible qualities—Your eternal power and divine nature. (Romans 1:20) It says that everything was made through and for Christ Jesus. (Colossians 1:16) It says that You created people in Your image, that You want us to KNOW You and care for all You made. (Genesis 1:27, John 17:3, and Ephesians 2:10)

By Your grace and with Your help Lord, Your children will thank, praise, and worship You for all eternity. And I pray that You will give me everything I need so that I might faithfully serve You and live with gratitude and praise now and always. Amen.

Creation vs. Evolution - the debate goes on and on. I'm sharing the truths of God's Word and the reasons I believe God created and cares for the world out of unfailing love and faithfulness.

When I look at the variety of colors, shapes, and sizes in God’s creation it’s impossible for me to believe that it just happened by the chance of an evolutionary process.

Why don’t all birds look alike? Why don’t all cats look the same? Why are there so many different kinds of fish? Why are giraffes completely different from hippos? Why are kangaroos nothing like penguins? Why are there countless types of plants and trees to shelter and provide food for us? Why?

I believe the answer is that they all come from the hand of a loving God who provided beauty and provision for the people He loves. I believe that’s why He made every single person “so wonderfully complex”

Other translations of Psalm 139:14 say that individuals are…

  • fearfully and wonderfully made. (KJV)
  • remarkably and wondrously made. (CSB)
  • marvelously set apart. (CEB)
  • amazingly and miraculously made. (NOG)

You and I were designed by the awesome Creator of the Universe and that’s something to celebrate. We were created by the One who loves us so very much that He gave His only Son to save us from sin, death, and the power of satan. We are loved and cared for now by His grace and according to His promises . . . we will be with Him loved and cared for forever in a new and perfect creation.

That is some seriously Good News!

Why would we want to trust some unknown origin account when we can SEEK, KNOW, TRUST, and LOVE the One who created us and loves us more than anything?

May the Spirit open our eyes so that we might see the beautiful truth of God’s Word. May we SEEK the Lord and His Kingdom so that we might KNOW His will for us and for His creation.

We would love to pray for you.

  3. Kathy Francescon says:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning GOD created the heaven and the earth.
I believe God as the Creator of all and everything. And no scientific explanation will ever change my mind! I have seen the glory and power of God and I know He is real, He is Eminent and some things even the greatest of scientific minds will never know and will never be able to explain. But someday, everyone will see and know! Praying for God to open all the hearts of those who chose to believe in science instead of Him…

    1. Amen, Kathy! Beautifully said! Blessings and hugs!

  4. Ana Cordova says:

Amen! For our Lord’s beautiful creation. When I read Genesis it really opened my eyes and heart knowing the power of his creation. If he created the world and every human being we need to glorify him daily and give him thanks for his love and all has given us of his creation. Blessings Deb and all the wonderful persons who are in this prayer group.

    1. Amen, Ana! He is so very and gracious to us generation after generation. God bless you!
