5 Important Reasons Jesus Came Into the World

How would you answer the question ... what are the reasons Jesus came into the world? Jesus didn't keep it a secret. We know He came to save us but are there any other reasons that He said He came? #Jesus #Christmas #Faith #Blessings #WWGGG

How would you answer the following question…

What are the reasons Jesus came into the world?

If you know, love, and trust Jesus, you would probably be quick to discuss His suffering, death, and resurrection.

But is that all? If that were the only reason, He wouldn’t have had to leave heaven for 33 long years. He could have come, surrendered Himself to sacrifice, and quickly returned to glory.

I’ll never forget watching Dr. Del Tackett ask a group of students, “Why did Jesus come into the world?” in the first Truth Project Bible Study session.

After an awkward silence, one student replied, “To save us.”

And Dr. Tackett replied, “Yes, that is a “profound” answer.” But not the one he was looking for. Dr. Tackett wanted everyone participating to focus on something Jesus said during His trial before Pontius Pilate…

Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”

John 18:37

Jesus wanted people to KNOW that He came to declare and demonstrate God’s TRUTH to all who would watch and listen.

So, I felt prompted to pause in preparation for Christmas and prayerfully focus on five verses that tell us in His own words, “the reasons Jesus came into the world.”

5 Verses and Prayers of Gratitude and Hope
The Reasons Jesus Came Into the World

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is Himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

John 1:18

Lord God, You are the Great I AM … Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You declare Yourself three persons in One God.

Because of Your tremendous love for the people You created, You came to earth, God in a human body physically revealing Yourself to us.

Since early history, people have worshipped false gods who cannot love us, care for us, or save us. But You are the only true God. You came to live among us and show us Your power and love. Thank you for wanting us to KNOW You. Thank you for Jesus who willingly showed us Your grace, mercy, and love. Amen.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.

John 3:16–17

Father God, You wanted us to live with You forever but You are perfect and righteous and cannot have sin in Your presence. Our debt is too great. You knew we could not pay it ourselves, so because of Your tremendous love, You gave Jesus to suffer our punishment, cancel our debt, and make it possible for us to believe and LIVE with You forever.

I am a sinner. By the power of Your Spirit, I believe Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and ask You to forgive me. Please help me keep my heart and mind focused on Jesus who came to save and will come again to judge the world. Amen.

I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.

John 6:38 (ESV)

Lord Jesus, You came to teach and show us the Father’s will. You spoke these words and then You said, “It is my Father’s will that all who see His Son and believe in Him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:40)

You gave Yourself to show us the greatness of God’s love by living with sinful people and sacrificing Yourself for them. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for loving me. Please help me follow Your example surrendering myself to trust and obey the Father’s will to live for His glory. Amen.

“I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”

John 18:37

Lord Jesus, You came to proclaim the eternal TRUTH of the power and love of God. Thank You for making it possible for me to love that TRUTH. Thank you for making it possible for me to LOVE You.

You are the way, the truth, and the life. You said “No one can come to the Father except through [You].” (John 14:6) So, I offer You my heart and my soul and ask You to hold me close, guard my thoughts, and help me love as You desire. Amen.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

Luke 19:10

My Lord and Savior, I thank and praise You for coming to SEEK us. Your Word says, “You want everyone to be saved and know the TRUTH.” (1 Timothy 2:4) Thank you for pursuing my heart. On my own, I can’t but with Your help, I can!

I give myself to You in faith. Please help me share Your love and humbly tell of Your saving grace for sinners, like me. I want everyone around me to want to KNOW You because they see You in me. Thank you for being the TRUTH that sets me free. Amen.

May you be blessed as you prayerfully consider the important reasons Jesus came into the world.

Truth…seems I’ve been thinking about truth a lot lately. During the hardest times in our marriage, we didn’t speak truth knowing the truth would hurt the other person. What we didn’t know then, is that we weren’t protecting the other person from the truth…we were destroying our own hearts. We can now testify that the truth did and does set us free. But I can never summon enough courage to tell the truth on my own. It seems I default to not saying anything at all or twisting it a little bit…until I start talking to Jesus about it. Then, it all falls into place, in His time. But in the meantime, there are always things to learn. Jesus, I don’t know what I would do without you in my life. It would be a complete disaster…it was a complete disaster. Thank You for saving me, thank You for forgiving me, thank You for showing me we were made for more. I love You…Merry CHRISTmas❣️

  3. I am so grateful that Jesus did come into this world. It is a good question, and as Christians, we all are thankful that God had this plan from the beginning. He knew we would fall short and not be able to obey his commands. It is so wonderful to know that God loves us all so much and wants us to all join Him in Heaven. Thinking about all that Jesus went through on our behalf and was willing to come in human form and go through all the emotions we do is something to ponder. He understands us so well.
Thank you for this post and reminder to remember why “Jesus is the reason for the season!”
I am so grateful for you and your friendship.
