12 Wonderful Reasons You Can Be Sure God Is Great
God is great! He is greater than anyone or anything.
The truth is … God is greater than our ability to adequately understand or explain Him.
I will exalt you, my God and King,
Psalm 145:1–3
and praise Your name forever and ever.
I will praise You every day;
yes, I will praise You forever.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure His greatness.
David began Psalm 145 with those words and then went on to share the reasons he could live each day confident of God’s greatness…
- The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry, and filled with unfailing love. v. 8
- The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all His creation. v. 9
- The Lord always keeps His promises; He is gracious in all He does. v. 13b
- The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. v. 14
- When You open Your hand, You satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
- The Lord is righteous in everything He does; He is filled with kindness. v. 17
- The Lord is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on Him in truth. v. 18
- He grants the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cries for help and rescues them. v. 19
12 Wonderful Reasons God Is Great
God is forever and always…
- Merciful (Ephesians 2:4–5)
- Compassionate (Exodus 34:6)
- Patient (2 Peter 3:9)
- Loving (John 3:16–17)
- Trustworthy (Numbers 23:19)
- Gracious (Hebrews 4:16)
- Caring (1 Peter 5:7)
- Helpful (Romans 8:26)
- Righteous (Psalm 71:19)
- Kind (Titus 3:4–5)
- Present (Psalm 139:5–7)
- Giving (2 Peter 1:3)
Yes! God is great and worthy of all our praise!
Hannah Whitall Smith wrote these beautiful words…
“Nothing can separate you from His love, absolutely nothing, neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature… We do not need to beg Him to bless us, He simply cannot help it. Therefore God is enough! God is enough for time, God is enough for eternity. God is enough!”
When the Bible tells us God is great, it is speaking of His holiness and reminding us that He alone is worthy to be worshiped, glorified, honored, and adored. As you and I think about God’s greatness, it’s important to remember that He is so great, so holy, so set apart that it is impossible to compare Him to anyone or anything else.
No love is purer than God’s love…
He sent Jesus to save us. He sent His Spirit to help and guide us. He gave us His Word to inform and instruct us. He gave us faith that we might KNOW, TRUST, and LOVE Him. And He gives us everything we need to live each day for His glory now and eternally.
Yes! God is great! He is worthy to be worshiped, glorified, honored, and adored.
Let’s pray…
God Is Great! Praise and Glory Now and Always!
Father God, I don’t even know where to begin. How do I put my thoughts into words? How do I come into Your presence and talk to You about Your greatness?
I am overwhelmed by Your gracious and merciful love. Everything You do is righteous. You are trustworthy, kind, caring, patient, and compassionate. You alone are worthy of all my worship and praise.
So, I will join David in praying … “I will exalt You, my God and King, and praise Your name forever and ever. I will glorify You every day [forever and always.] I will proclaim Your greatness and share the story of Your wonderful goodness.”
And one day, I will join with all the company of heaven and proclaim, “Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty. reigns.”
I surrender my life to You. I love You, Lord. Your greatness is declared by all You have made. You are the Giver of every good and perfect gift. I praise You for You are glorious now and Your glory will shine forever and always. Amen.
It’s not unusual for people to question God’s goodness and love when they’re facing difficult circumstances. The enemy of our souls wants us to doubt Him by tempting us to doubt His abilities and attributes.
That’s why God’s Word says…
My righteous ones will live by faith.
Hebrews 10:38
And
Faith is being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.
Hebrews 11:1 (NCV)
With the help and by the power of the Holy Spirit, you and I can live by faith confident that God is great even when life is difficult.
So, hold these words of Paul in your heart…
Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20–21
And celebrate with worship, praise, and great joy that our God is great … all the time!

Pls pls can you all.kindly pray for my close friend in enugu in niheria. He urgently !!!! Needs a job and money and very urgent financial breakthrough. He needs money food clothes guidance and help. He’s a musician but as no work so if he. Could get a job in music and entertainment and be. Blessed abundantly with that..thst would be so amazing and such a blessing as he’s feeling very worthless and depressed and been feeling suicidal just now. Any work in sales shopwork clothing would also be good as he as experience in this. He wants his own. Shop but doesn’t have the financial back uo . He’s cert frustrated .pls pls pray for him .
