God's love is perfect. We can bring our past and have the strength we need for the future because always and forever God's love is unconditional and unfailing. We can trust His promises.

God’s love is perfect!

The Apostle John put it like this…

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God has God living inside, and that person lives in God. And so we know the love that God has for us, and we trust that love. God is love. Those who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

1 John 4:15–16 (NCV)

John often wrote about the many ways God demonstrated His love but this time he wanted people to KNOW that love is not just what He does it is who He is!

When Moses asked God to speak His name, He replied by saying …

I Am That I Am: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

Exodus 3:14

He was about to save His children from slavery in Egypt … saving them and giving us a living example of His plan to save His children from slavery to sin.

So, here are just a few things to remember when the enemy whispers words of doubt…

♥ God is love and God’s love is perfect!

Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love drives out fear.

1 John 4:18 (NCV)

♥ God’s Love is Unconditional!

I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

Romans 8:28

♥ God’s Love is Unfailing!

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23:6

When I quietly hold those truths deep in my heart, I’m humbled and overwhelmed that God would care that much about you and me.

No matter what we’ve done, where we’ve been, or how we feel—God’s love is perfect, unconditional, and unfailing.

You may have needed this reminder today.

Although we learned the verse, “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son,” and that Son is the Jesus who loves us so much He gave His life to save us … we still have days when doubt and guilt leave us feeling quite unlovable. Days when the enemy taunts, tempts, and troubles us.

So, read the following verses out loud and make them personal…

John 3:16

This is how God loved (Your Name Here) He gave His one and only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Genesis 1:31

God looked over everything He had made (Your Name Here); it was so good, so very good! (MSG)

Psalm 139:17

How precious are your thoughts about (Your Name Here), O God. They cannot be numbered!

Isaiah 41:10

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you, (Your Name Here). Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Psalm 89:1

(Your Name Here) will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.

God’s love is perfect and His love is unconditional and unfailing!

God's love is perfect. We can bring our past and have the strength we need for the future because always and forever God's love is unconditional and unfailing. We can trust His promises.

Let’s pray…

A Prayer Proclaiming that God’s Love is Perfect
He Alone is Worthy of All Our Worship & Praise

Father God, Jesus said we are to be perfect like You. Oh, how we fail to come close to that goal. We are all guilty of sin. I know I sin in what I do and say and what I fail to do and say every day. Please forgive me.

Though we are imperfect, nothing can change who You are and You are perfect love. You promised to save us from the moment of the very first sin. And at the right time and place You sent Jesus to be our Savior. He loved us so much that He gave up the glories of heaven and lived among sinful people so that they might be able to come and live with You.

He also said there is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends. He gave His life to make us friends and family. We did nothing to earn it and we certainly didn’t deserve it but because of Your overwhelming grace, mercy, and love, You gave Your all for us.

You invite us to KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST You and believe the promises that Your love is poured out on us unconditionally and it will never fail. You are love and You never change. What was true at the beginning is true today and will be forever and always.

So, I will give You all my worship and praise by giving You all my life. Please help me cling to Your promises faithfully and give me the courage and strength I need to trust and obey Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God's love is perfect. We can bring our past and have the strength we need for the future because always and forever God's love is unconditional and unfailing. We can trust His promises.

Martin Luther wrote…

“The sin underneath all our sins is to trust the lie of the serpent that we cannot trust the love and grace of Christ and must take matters into our own hands”

It’s true, isn’t it?

That’s why it’s important to pray these words of David every day…

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.

Psalm 143:8

So, let’s rest in the truth of these words from Max Lucado…

“Trust God’s love. His perfect love. Don’t fear He will discover your past. He already has. Don’t fear disappointing Him in the future. He can show you the chapter in which you will. With perfect knowledge of the past and perfect vision of the future, He loves you perfectly in spite of both.”

May the Lord bless you and give you His peace today as He surrounds you with His perfect, unconditional, and unfailing love.

We would love to pray for you.

It was both humbling and encouraging to read those verses and place my name in the blanks you provided, Deb. Who am I that God loves me unconditionally? I am His child.
    Blessings!
