5 Simple Ways to Spread the Good News About Faith

Do you know followers of Jesus who exude so much love, joy, peace, patience, trust, and passion for Jesus and life that they make the people around them want to know more about Him?
The Life Application Notes say that these character qualities show believers are created in God’s image. We were made to be image bearers who reflect God’s love, sharing the Good News about Christ Jesus.
How boldly do you share the love of Jesus that’s within you?
We have the life-changing message that..
“God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever believes in Him may not be lost, but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 (NCV)
Jesus shared God’s Good News to humanity in one simple sentence. Then, after accomplishing His life-giving mission, Jesus gave His followers their mission before ascending back to heaven…
You will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8b
What do you think? Do Christians make being a witness for Jesus more complicated than it needs to be?
What if spreading the Good News about Jesus was as easy as…
- Smiling.
- Being kind and caring.
- Being patient and listening.
- Offering to pray.
- Saying, “God bless you.”
I’ve written about Tilden and Loretta before. He had a favorite sentence that he shared frequently and sincerely…
“Do you KNOW how much JESUS LOVES YOU?”
He was a witness for Jesus and modeled Paul’s words to the Romans…
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Romans 1:16–17
Tilden was not ashamed of the Good News about Jesus. He wanted everyone to KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST the Lord’s life-changing, life-giving power..
I’ve noticed that believers frequently get caught up in the right and wrong of Christianity, debating doctrine and demeaning behavior. But what if we could attract more faith-filled followers if we just lived the blessings of knowing and loving Jesus, focusing on being His image-bearers by sharing His love?
Remember, we are saved by faith in Jesus, not by doing the most or thinking we sin the least.
So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Galatians 3:11
Let’s pray…
A Prayer to Live in Ways that
Share the Good News About Faith
Heavenly Father, thank you for making it possible for me to KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST You. I am guilty of giving in to foolish worldly ideas, making it hard for people to see Your love in me. Please forgive me.
I want to surrender myself completely to You, trusting the presence and direction of Your Spirit within me. Your Word says I am to be humble, gentle, patient, tenderhearted, and loving (Ephesians 4:2 & 1 Peter 3:8). Living out character qualities that show people the Good News about Jesus.
Forgive me for the times I’ve preached at people in ways that make me look prideful and hypocritical. You inspired Paul to write, “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” (Philippians 2:3)
Please help me. I want people to know I have faith because they see Jesus’ love in me. May I never forget, I am saved by grace alone through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone. It is only through Jesus that I am considered righteous in Your sight.
I give myself to You and celebrate the Good News about Jesus. He loves me so much that He gave His life for me. And it’s in His holy name, I pray. Amen.
John Piper wrote…
“The gospel is the good news that the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of the never-boring, ever-satisfying Christ is ours freely and eternally by faith in the sin-forgiving death and hope-giving resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
We don’t have to argue, debate, or convince anyone that our religious beliefs are true. The truth is that those words may do more to hurt the Kingdom than they help.
We are called to share the Good News of our faith by being image-bearers of God’s love by living humbly and loving like Jesus.
So, let’s smile more and listen patiently with kindness and compassion. Let’s pray and bless with the Good News about our faith. Let’s live His TRUTH and let the Spirit transform hearts, minds, and lives.
We would love to pray for you.

Thank you, Angelo. That is very kind of you! I offer my articles and devotions as a gift of encouragement. My husband and I decided, many years ago, to share this as I way of giving back to the Lord for all of His grace, mercy, and love in our lives. I hope you’ll visit often and share any encouragement you receive with friends and family. God bless you!
What a beautiful way to spread the love of Jesus Tilden had!
Being a good listener is something I have had to really work on. I have to admit, I am more of a talker, but I do have my moments of listening. The sweet man that God has put in my life is a great listener. He listens with his eyes and his ears! And people love to be around him.
Thank goodness we have such a good listener in Jesus. He is always here to listen and take care of us.
I love to tell people how HE has always gotten me through so much. So many times!!!
Thank you too Deb, for being such a remarkable witness for Jesus to us. We are very blessed!
Thank you, Sue! Tilden and Loretta were beautiful mentors to Rev and me. They were prayer warriors and loving encouragers. We were very blessed to know them.
I’m glad you’ve got a good listener in your life. Like you, I have to challenge myself to stop talking and listen. Rev’s patient listening was a gift from God. He gave good advice too. And you’re right, the best blessing is that although I’m on my own, I’m never alone. The Lord invites me to “come and talk” with Him. And I do multiple times every day. Thanks for your kindness and encouragement. I am so thankful for you! HUGS!
