The Amazing Truth – Anyone Can Be Transformed By God

John showed us what it looks like to KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST Jesus.
Paul showed us that anyone can be transformed by God!
Saul, later known as Paul, made it his purpose to silence people like John who were doing all they could to keep Jesus’ legacy alive.
We learn about him in the Book of Acts (of the Apostles)…
Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them—both men and women—back to Jerusalem in chains.
Acts 9:1–2
But the Lord had very different plans…
As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”
“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Acts 9:3–6
Are you praying for someone who has rejected the love of Jesus and hates Christians? Don’t give up! If the Lord can claim the heart of Paul and transform him, your loved one can be transformed by God, too.
Saul became known as Paul and shared God’s love throughout much of the known world, and if you count the lives his written words have continued to touch through his Spirit-inspired letters in Scripture, it’s mind-boggling.
Paul wrote 13 out of 27 books of the New Testament between 50 A.D. and 90 A.D….
• Romans
• 1 and 2 Corinthians
• Galatians
• Ephesians
• Philippians
• Colossians
• 1 and 2 Thessalonians
• 1 and 2 Timothy
• Titus
• Philemon
As promised at the beginning of the year, we’re taking an in-depth look at Rev’s favorite book—Romans.
Paul began with a clear statement of his faith, and there’s no doubt about how he felt about Jesus.
This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach His Good News. God promised this Good News long ago through His prophets in the holy Scriptures. The Good News is about His Son. In His earthly life He was born into King David’s family line, and He was shown to be the Son of God when He was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit, He is Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 1:1–4
Paul went from being eager to kill the Lord’s followers to being transformed by God and sent to preach His Good News about Jesus, the resurrected Savior.
So, keep sharing God’s love and praying for your loved one. We trust the One who can do the impossible…
The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked.
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
Matthew 19:25–26
Let’s pray…
A Prayer of Thankfulness and Hope –
Anyone Can Be Transformed by God
Lord God, thank you for graciously giving us the undeserved and unearned gift of our Savior, Jesus, who knowingly came to live among sinners to save sinners, like me.
By Your grace, You provided everything we need to KNOW, TRUST, and LOVE You, and You miraculously transform us through faith by the power of Your Spirit.
Thank you for taking a persecutor, like Paul, and completely changing him into a proclaimer of Your love and truth. May I, like Paul, completely surrender my whole life to my Lord and Savior. May I willingly give myself as a slave, completely dependent and willingly obedient, trusting that Your will is always best.
I pray this for my loved ones as well. Please work around and in them, transforming by Your grace, and the power of Your love. Please surround them with opportunities to know You and give them everything they need to love and trust You.
I believe You are the God of miracles. You have worked a miracle in me, and I will thank and praise You now and forever. I give myself to You, please give me the will and strength to trust and obey You in all I think, say, and do. Amen.
I love how Pastor Adrian Rogers talked about being transformed by God…
“The same Jesus who turned water into wine can transform your home, your life, your family, and your future. He is still in the miracle-working business, and His business is the business of transformation.”
And how Pastor Andrew Murray told us about the blessing of surrender…
“May not a single moment of my life be spent outside the light, love, and joy of God’s presence and not a moment without the entire surrender of myself as a vessel for Him to fill full of His Spirit and His love.”
Because it is a surrendered life that is open to God’s transforming power.
May we continuously pray for our loved ones and ourselves to open our hearts to the Lord, and surrender to being people who are transformed by God and live to love as He desires.
We would love to pray for you.

Amen, Deb! There isn’t one of us whom God can’t transform into lovers of Him and His word. Blessings on this Memorial Day!
He has certainly transformed me. Blessings and hugs, dear friend!
Surrender totally to Jesus. You are right, HE can do miraculous things for us if we do. I think about something I read in a book by Maria Shropshire. It said that I could receive so much love from the Lord that I would not even miss the lack of love from one who is hurting me so much. I truly do believe that is so. God will transform us if only we surrender. Thank you so much for such a loving post.
May God bless you with so much love.
I love that word from Maria, Sue! Thats exactly how I would describe the way the Lord has used the past 20 years to fill my heart and encourage me with His love. What a graciously God we worship! Blessings and hugs to you!!
PS
I love the book of Romans. It is one of my favorites.
Also, Deb, I do pray daily for my loved ones, even the ones I don’t hear from. Prayer is powerful, but must be according to God’s will for what He wants for us.
Amen!
Thanks, Sue! Both John and Romans contain encouraging words of God’s grace, mercy, and love. We are so blessed.
