Anxious? Know this Simple Truth – Jesus Loves You

If you grew up attending Sunday School or Children’s Church, you likely learned to sing “Jesus Loves Me” at a very young age.
Jesus loves me! this I know,
~Anna Bartlett Warner in 1859
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
Although the Bible doesn’t use those exact words, it says that Jesus is God.
“The Father and I are one.”
John 10:30
For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.
Colossians 2:9
And…
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in His love. God is love.
1 John 4:16a
The awesome part is that these aren’t just words, they are factual truth.
God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.
Romans 5:8–9
God loves the people He created so much that Jesus came and paid the debt we owed but could never pay.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
John 15:13
Because Jesus gave His life for us, we can anticipate the day of judgment with faith and confidence. We have Christ’s love with and within us.
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love.
1 John 4:18
When you and I fully experience God’s LOVE—we LOVE. We love our God and the people He created. We live with and love those in the family of faith. AND we pray with love, care, and compassion that everyone will become part of the Lord’s family.
As I’ve written these words, it hit me how the devil wants the world to be obsessed with hate and division. It’s his goal to keep us anxious and fretful about the ongoing battle between good and evil.
I’ll admit that I can get upset about what I read online and see on the news. But this has reminded me to reject the chaos, worry, regret, guilt, and every other negative emotion with the words of Jesus…
“No, the Scriptures say…”
Luke 4:4
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
Romans 8:35, 37
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Nothing can separate us from Jesus’ love. By God’s grace, we can trust Him through every trial and trouble. We can live with confidence that through Christ Jesus, victory over sin, death, and the enemy is ours.
God is love! And because He is love, we can sing, “Yes, Jesus loves me!” now and forever.

Let’s pray…
A Prayer to Live Free of Anxiety
Because Jesus Loves You
Father God, thank you for loving us. Thank you for loving me. Oh, how we fail to love one another as You desire, and it’s a lack of love in our world that makes us anxious.
Love wants what is best. Love is sacrificial, caring, and compassionate. Love is Jesus.
Thank you so much for wanting us to KNOW and LOVE You. Your love is so great that You gave us Your inspired Word, and You sent Your Spirit to give us understanding.
Thank you for the people who taught me that Jesus loves me. You gave Him to save all who believe, freedom from the eternal consequences of their sin. You gave Him to save me.
You promised that nothing can separate me from Your love. You promised that through Jesus, there is victory over sin, death, and the power of the enemy. And You promise that when I focus my heart and mind on You in faith, You will give me everything I need.
I believe I can live free of fear and anxiety through Your grace, mercy, and perfect love. May I always and forever thank and praise You with my words and glorify You by living with a heart filled with love.
I offer myself to You. Please give me all I need to trust and obey Your will. Please help live a humble life filled with love. Help me model Jesus, who showed us Your perfect love. In His holy name, I pray. Amen.

Lysa TerKeurst wrote…
“This life is not about me. It’s about joining hands with Jesus to fulfill whatever tasks He sets before me and to share His love with all He brings my way.”
Whatever is going on in your world or the world around you, you can live free of anxiety.
Jesus loves you! He lived, suffered, and died to show you how much.
The Father loves you! He sent Jesus to live, die, and rise again. to show you how much.
The Spirit loves you! He gives you faith and fills you with love so you can KNOW, LOVE, TRUST, and OBEY.
May God give you everything you need to live in His love, free of all anxiety.
We would love to pray for you.

Free of anxiety and worry because Jesus loves me. This I know! Blessings, Deb, and have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you, Martha! His love is the best news ever! Hugs, dear friend!
Oh, how I love that song! Yes, Jesus loves me!! In my Sunday school class, I belonged before I moved back to this side of town, we would sing that from time to time. It is amazing how us older folks still have solace in that song and those words. When I wake in the night with an anxiety attack, I sing it!!! And I repeat Romans 8:38 and 39 on a daily basis. (In the night too!) It is good to keep those reminders close in my heart. Thank you for posting this and reminding us too. May God Bless you with a beautiful and safe weekend my friend.
Nothing in all the world can separate us from God’s love! One of my favorite promises! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, dear friend! Blessings!!
