You are a One of a Kind Creation Made with a Purpose and a Message
“I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast!
And when I run I feel His pleasure.” ~Eric Liddell
I’m not fast. I was the kid who was picked last for every team, but…
Like Eric Liddell and like you . . . God made me one of a kind for a unique purpose.
And He is always at work guiding us toward the purposes He has for us.
Paul wrote…
We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
Romans 8:28
You and I are perfectly designed, custom-made by God for God; and every day we are being equipped by Him and for Him.
Max Lucado said it like this…
“You weren’t an accident. You weren’t mass produced. You aren’t an assembly-line product. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on the earth by the Master Craftsman.”
You’re one of a kind!
[You] are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10
I’ve always known I wasn’t created to be a runner. But, it’s funny. I never believed I was a writer either. I avoided writing whenever possible. The whole outline, sentence structure, paragraph formal writing thing . . . well, just ask my English teachers. Nope. I never pictured myself writing.
I am a talker . . . you could ask my teachers about that, too!
Thankfully, talking is one of the reasons I love blogging. Bloggers write the way they talk. They share what’s on their hearts and minds. They blog about things that are important to them and open up conversations with their readers.
And what’s important to me?
To tell people about Jesus, the One who pieced me together after my heart was broken. The One who never stopped loving me even after I stood at the tree and believed the lie and picked the fruit. I want everyone to know how much Jesus loves sinners like me.
It’s the blessings we have in Jesus that I count and write about. Blessings of His grace and mercy. Blessings of forgiveness. Blessings of His love. Blessings of hope. Blessings that give us purpose.
Blessings that last forever and always.
God gives each of us gifts and abilities to be used for His purposes.
He also gives us a unique personal message to share. A message that includes good and bad, successes and failures, joys and sorrows, hurts and healings . . . yet, by His grace, every chapter is purposed with a message of His love.
Author Rick Yancey wrote…
“God doesn’t call the equipped, son. God equips the called. And you have been called.”
Yes, you and I have been called and equipped to accomplish God’s plans and purposes. Plans full of His love. Purposes to use through a hope-filled future. Highs and lows, mountain tops and deep valleys . . . every part of our lives writing a message of His grace, mercy, and love.
A Prayer Asking God for His Help to
Live Our One of a Kind Purpose
Father, Your Word says that I was created by You and for You . . . that I am one of a kind. Your Word tells me that You have given me unique plans and purposes to be used for Your glory.
Thank you for caring about each one of us individually. Forgive me for the times I listen to the enemy’s lies that You are distant or uninvolved. Jesus said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20) He promised that the Holy Spirit will fill Your children with “power from heaven.” (Luke 24:49)
I believe that You are always with me. Always active. And always equipping.
Please help me do Your will with joy and thanksgiving. Help me use my story for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Take a look at your story today. How has God used it to equip you for this time and place? How can you use His equipping for His glory?
Whatever you are going through today. Whatever your plans . . . this is my prayer for you.
Now may the God of peace—
Hebrews 13:20–21
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with His blood—
may He equip you with all you need for doing His will.
May He produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to Him.
All glory to Him forever and ever! Amen.
God be with you today as your story is being written and may He give you everything you need to use it for His glory.
We would love to pray for you.

Thank you, Rosemary! I’m so glad you were blessed and encouraged!
Whenever I’m feeling blue or down in the dumps, I remind myself that God has created me for His purposes, and those don’t include wallowing in sadness. I’m learning to thank God in no matter what circumstances I find myself – certainly not perfect at that, but determined to try.
Thanks, Deb, for reminding all of us how special we are in God’s eyes.
Blessings!
I love that, Martha! God’s plans for me don’t include wallowing. I want to remember that! Blessings!
That’s one question I keep praying for – that He would show me what is His purpose with me, my life, what was His plan to bring me on this earth? I never forget while working for an emergency response agency, suddenly I found my purpose there. The long hours stopped to matter, but my focus shifted to being there for the hurt, or ignored, and share the pain.
It does make a huge difference when someone has a purpose to live….and I’m not sure about mine.
Though I keep reminding myself and even more so my hubby in his downtimes, that “we’re wonderfully made by God”.
Blessings Deb….
Oh, Gaby, I believe our purpose is simply to serve Him where we are right now by loving one another. I had a wonderful interaction yesterday and Walmart with a complete stranger just sharing a smile and encouragement. I’m praying for you and asking the Lord to bless and encourage you today.
???????????? thank my friend. I’ve been down this week.
Praying for you and asking God to encourage you! Blessings!
I just found your blog yesterday and what a blessing it is! Keep up the good work. My name is Diane and I am 78 years young. I lived a life of terrible sin when I left the Catholic church. But six years ago I went back and it was the best thing I have experienced. I was not raised catholic ,so I am still learning.I am poor but rich in Gods love. To be forgiven is a wonderful thing! I love your blog. The prayers are such a help. THANKS and God Bless You. Diane.
Thank you, Diane! I appreciate your visit and your kind encouragement. I love the way you said, “I am poor but rich in God’s love.” I think that’s true for all of us. His grace is sufficient and the greatest blessing we could ever ask for. God be with you and bless you!
