7 Uplifting Truths You Need for Life Now and Forever

I hardly know where to begin today. Today’s verses are packed full of powerful and uplifting truths for life.
Jesus’ Uplifting Truths for Life
♥ The Lord loves you and me, and He wants us to love Him.
“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.”
John 15:9
♥ Our love for Jesus is demonstrated through our obedience to Him.
“When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in His love.”
John 15:10
♥ Loving and obeying Jesus will give us joy.
“I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!”
John 15:11
♥ Obedience means loving God and one another.
“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.”
John 15:12
♥ The greatest love is offering ourselves through self-sacrifice.
“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
John 15:13
♥ Jesus chose us to KNOW, LOVE, and TRUST Him as friends.
“You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you.”
John 15:14–16a
♥ When we sincerely ask God to help us love like Jesus, He will.
“I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.”
John 15:16b–17
I’m so very humbled by these uplifting truths of our Lord and Savior. They sum up all that God wants for us in a powerful and uplifting way.
Yet, it’s sad how many have turned Jesus’ message of love into permission to do whatever makes them happy, and others have turned God’s will into a legalism that leans toward self-righteousness.
Jesus’s love is neither permissive nor legalistic. It is self-sacrificing.
The uplifting truths are that Jesus wants us to know it is God’s will and His desire for us to obey because He loves us and it is what’s best for us.
And it is God’s will that we love like Jesus in ways that bless our relationships and give us joy!
John further explained it in one of his letters…
Love means doing what God has commanded us, and He has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
2 John 1:6
Let’s pray…
A Prayer to Know and Live God’s Uplifting Truths
Heavenly Father, thank you for wanting us to know the greatness of Your love. From Genesis through Revelation, You inspired writers to proclaim the truth about the ways You graciously work in and around us to save us.
Your love is so amazing that You sent Your Son to tell us and show us its magnitude. He told us and showed us that You are love, and because You are love, You want a loving relationship with us … with me.
I’ve often prayed, “How can I begin to thank You?”
By Your grace, Jesus said that my love for You is made evident through trust and obedience, and obedience is loving and caring for the people around me. I want to trust and obey in love, but I fall short every day. Please forgive me and give me the strength and eagerness I need to do better.
Thank You for wanting me to be blessed with the precious gift of joy. It is a gift so wonderful, I want to share it. What a beautiful glimpse of the eternal future You are preparing for us.
Father, please help me live with an eternal perspective and love like Jesus. By Your grace and for Your glory. Amen.
God’s Word tells us that love and joy are closely linked. It seems like an oxymoron when Jesus tells us that true love is self-sacrificing when the world tells us that love is all about our feelings and emotions.
The Life Application Bible Notes add that sacrificial love can be as simple as “listening, helping, encouraging, and giving.”
By God’s grace, may we show the world the joy of loving as the Lord commands. And may we be blessed to live these uplifting truths now and always.
We would love to pray for you.

Amen, Martha! I’m joining you in that beautiful prayer. Blessings, dear friend!
I sure do fall short every day. I am so thankful that God does not hold that against me. He never abandons or forsakes. Trusting that is what will keep a person going.
Thank you and blessing to you, Deb!
Me too, Sue! What a gracious and good God we trust. Prayerfully wanting to focus on Him no matter is going on around me. I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful weekend. Blessings and HUGS!
