Even when you're waiting on God's timing . . . when it seems like He is silent, you can still trust His will and His promises. This will help! #BibleStudy #Blessings #Faith

Christ came at just the right time.

Not early. Not late. At just the right time.

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Romans 5:6

Are you waiting on God?

  • Do you wonder if, with all that’s going on in the world, your circumstances are too small for God to care or act?
  • Do you feel like your cries are bouncing off the ceiling?
  • Does your heart cry out as you confess that you’re questioning His love?

Prior to Jesus’ birth:

  • God’s prophets had been silent for 400 years.
  • Rome had been in power since 63 B.C. and life was hard.
  • The Jews had divided into factions.
    • Pharisees – Legalists, who devoted themselves to the law, applying it strictly to daily life.
    • Sadducees – Rationalists, who are skeptical toward religion and more political in nature.

God brought about the perfect political and religious setting for the work of His Son, Jesus. (Life Application Bible Notes)

You see. God cared. He never stopped loving His children. He never stopped working in and through the times and circumstances for His plans and purposes. People were waiting on God and He was working to make the perfect time to accomplish His plans and purpose through Jesus.

Through Jeremiah, He said…

For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11

He was always present. Always involved. Always hearing. Always loving. Always caring.

And through Malachi, He said…

I am the Lord, and I do not change.

Malachi 3:6

There will be times when we find ourselves waiting on God. So, what should we do?

What to Do While You are Waiting on God

1. Trust God’s Love

Everything God does is filtered through His love. His love is so great that He made a plan to save us when we were unable to save ourselves.

God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. 1 John 4:9

2. Trust God’s Presence

The enemy wants us to believe we’re on our own, that God is busy, distracted, or uncaring. But God said…

“I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.”

Hebrews 13:5

3. Trust God’s Wisdom

God’s ways are perfect. He sees all of life from beginning to end. He knows how things work and fit together. And He always does what is best at the right time—even when we don’t understand.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His ways!

Romans 11:33

4. Trust God’s Involvement

He cares about each of us personally. He created us and knows everything about us. And He is always at work in our lives doing what He knows is best for our forever futures.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Romans 8:28

5. Trust God’s Promises

God keeps His promises. He always has and He always will.

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock?

Psalm 18:30–31

A Prayer for Help and Strength
While You are Waiting on God

Father, this is so very hard. It feels like I’ve been waiting forever. I’ve prayed and prayed and nothing changes.

I want to trust Your plans, promises, and timing but at this moment my heart hurts. It’s especially hard when I look around and see that other people are being blessed with the very thing for which I’m praying. Please forgive my impatience. Please forgive my childish doubts.

I know You are always the same. I know You see the end from the beginning. (Isaiah 46:10) I believe that I can trust Your plans and promises. (Hebrews 10:23) I believe You are able to give me everything I need while I SEEK You and Your will. (Luke 12:31)

Please strengthen me each day. Help me focus on the countless blessings You pour into my life. Help me trust Your perfect will for me. Give me patience and help me trust Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Are you waiting on God?

For health? For a job? For protection? For provision? For a child? For a spouse? For _________?

Stop. Breathe in His love for you.

The Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation. Psalm 100:4

Jesus is God’s unfailing love in flesh. He showed us the Father’s perfect love and perfect timing.

He is the evidence that we can trust God’s love, His presence, wisdom, involvement, and promises. He is the evidence that we can trust God’s timing.

May you be blessed with everything you need while you are waiting on God.
