It's not easy to live one day at a time. There 5 prayers will bless your day and help you trust God's will for today!

I had no idea how many of you, like me, struggle to live one day at a time. Trusting and following God’s will for today without dwelling on the past or the future may be one of our greatest challenges.

Truthfully, I shouldn’t have been surprised!

I don’t know anyone over the age of five who hasn’t occasionally experienced feelings of regret and worry. If you throw in a little selfishness and the desire for instant gratification … well, that starts even younger, doesn’t it?

Your reactions to  5 Things that will Help You Live within God’s Will Today reminded me again that one day at a time living doesn’t align well with our sinful human natures.

We don’t really want to repent and forgive.
And worry comes so easily.
We love God but obedience is His will can be hard.
And loving imperfect people … well, I don’t even have to explain that one.
Keeping an eternal perspective isn’t easy either.

These things aren’t part of our natural human nature…

But when you and I follow them they make every day better!

God is like that, isn’t He?

He gives us His commands because He knows that when we follow them we will enjoy more peace and joy in general and our relationships will be strengthened and blessed.

The question is — How do you and I get to the place where living within God’s will one day at a time becomes second nature even if it’s not in our human nature?

I believe it begins with prayer followed by trust and obedience.

So, today … let’s pray and bless your day!

5 Verses to Pray that will Bless Your Day

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. #Prayer #Blessed #Faith

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Father, Help me remember this day is a precious gift from You. Whatever this day brings, You are with me. You promise to give me strength when I’m weak and courage when I’m afraid. (Deuteronomy 31:6) Please help me “Be still.” I want to know You better. I want to obey Your will as You reveal it to me. I need more of You! Please give me everything I need to trust Your love and follow wherever You lead. By the power of Your Spirit, help my attitude. May I live each day with joy and gladness in ways that bring You glory. Amen.

Philippians 3:13

I focus on this one thing:
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.

Father, it can be so hard not to look back. The enemy hisses reminders of my past and I cower in shame and regret. But by Your grace, I am forgiven! Yes, the moment I repented through Jesus, I became clean, healed, and whole. Through Jesus, I am set free. I am Your child. I have Your Spirit of Truth living within me. Please help me forgive others as I have been forgiven. May I let go of past hurts that I might enjoy the fruit of Your spiritual blessings today.

Father, thank you for speaking Your will to me through Your Spirit and Your Word. Thank you for hearing my prayers. Thank you for giving me everything I need to follow You today. Amen.

Philippians 4:6

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.

Father, I’ve wasted so much precious time worried and fearful. Forgive me. I lay my burdens at the foot of the cross. You have shown me Your grace, mercy, and love countless times. Remind me of all You have done in the past.

Thank you for Your still small voice that said, “You have no idea of all the ways I’ve protected you.” Even in what you allow, Your hand of protection is with me. When I remember all the times you have walked through valleys beside me … I have nothing to fear. You will give me everything I need when I need it! I will trust in You and I won’t be worried or afraid of tomorrow. Amen.

Colossians 3:23

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you
were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Father, I need Your help to do today well. I love my people … the ones You have given to me. But Lord, I’m tired. People are exhausting! That is no surprise to You though, is it?

Help me put You first today. Help me love You best.

By Your grace, help me know when to say “yes” and when to say “no.” Please help me love my people as You wish. Keep me from getting in the way of the things You are doing in their lives. Keep me from setting myself up as a “small g” god in their lives. Forgive me.

Please Father, may people see You in me. More than anything I want them to know, love, and trust You completely through faith in Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

5 Verses to Pray that will Bless Your Day by Deb Wolf @ Counting My Blessings

Hebrews 13:6,9

So, we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper,
so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?”

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Father, “faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 and “this truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.” Titus 1:2

Because of Jesus, I have not only the hope of eternal life, I have confidence. Because of Jesus I am forgiven and have nothing to fear. Because of Jesus who is the same yesterday, today, and forever … I have everything I need to live one day at a time. Because of Jesus – this is a day to rejoice and be glad! In His name, I pray. Amen.

I’m praying for you today, my friend! May you live today with the joy and gladness that is found in Jesus.

He is with you. You are loved more than you know.

You have all you need to live this day!
