Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.
~William Arthur Ward
Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing
what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind
that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God.
I have witnessed the softening of the hardest
hearts by a simple smile.
We shall never know all the good
that a simple smile can do.
That’s it! Just make an effort to smile.
I’m not suggesting you fake your feelings; I’m asking you to consider the difference a smile can make.
So . . .
- in the hallway at work – smile at coworkers.
- at the mall or grocery store – smile at other shoppers and sales people.
- at a restaurant – smile at your server.
- on the street – look for someone who looks like they need a smile.
- at home – smile at your kids and at your spouse.
I promise you will be blessed. The smiles you’ll get in return will make you want to turn smiling into a habit. You’ll discover that even a rotten mood can be turned around when you share a smile or two.
May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace. Numbers 6:24-26
