The Liebster Award – Questions & Answers

Sharing is caring!

blogger-image-1259597635I’ve been blessed to be chosen for The Liebster Award by my friend, Joan, at The Beauty in His Grip. I love what Joan says about her site:

Unrelenting in His call to me, my Savior’s voice reached my closed ears and I finally heard Him. When I turned around He was there with His hand outstretched toward me. With a grateful heart, I placed my hand in His and now I have found the beauty in His grip.

Thank you so much Joan for the beautiful way you share your love for the Lord in the blogosphere.

The Liebster Award, is a way to send some love to another blogger, meet new bloggers, and learn some lesser known facts about each other.

The Official Rules of the Liebster Award:

  1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog and answer the questions they presented.
  2. Link back to the blogger who awarded you.
  3. Copy & paste the pink Liebster Award logo to your blog.
  4. Nominate 5 blogs to receive the award who have less than 3,000 followers.
  5. Create a new list of 11 questions for them.
  6. Inform them of their nomination.

Joan did a great job of coming up with questions. I’m pretty sure there are some things you may not know about me. If you’d like to know some of my favorites keep reading and don’t quit before the end, because you know I’ll have a question or two for you.

Liebster Award Questions

1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? – I’ve always dreamed of remodeling an old country church into a home that sits in the middle of the woods somewhere. However, there aren’t too many churches for sale in the middle of forests; so, I will enjoy every minute of our current home and our tree-filled backyard.

2. What is one silly moment you’ve had that you’d like to share? – I was not a silly kid; so, I’m making up for it by being a silly grandma and I’m loving it.

3. What is your favorite dessert? – Just one? I usually have a piece of chocolate. My favorites are apple pie à la mode, or a s’more concrete from Ted Drewes Frozen Custard.

4. What has been the greatest blessing through blogging? – I love blogging. I’ve met many wonderful writers, made new friends, reviewed products, books, and movies, and enjoyed travel. The greatest blessing has to be traveling to Bolivia with the World Vision Bolivia Bloggers.

5. What is your favorite room in your home? – Our great room has a window wall that gives us a close-up view of the changing seasons and the local critters (deer, raccoon, possum, owls, turtles, and too many birds to name).

6. Do you have a favorite animal? If so, what is it? – I love animals, all kinds of animals, but as many of you know I am a dog lover. My favorite animal is:

Sadie

7. What is your favorite trait about yourself? – I could easily list off my least favorite traits. The one that comes to mind quickly is – I talk too much! I always have. You can ask any one of my teachers, family members, or friends. I’m working on being as good a listener as I am a talker.

My favorite trait has to be that I love to laugh and smile . . . I will always look for the humor in things and I love to smile at everyone and anyone. I have the laugh lines to prove it. 😉

8. What is your favorite color? – Again, it’s hard to pick just one. So, I’ll say red and deep purple.

9. What is your favorite time of day? – Early evening is the best. Rev and I always sit down without any distractions other than Sadie, and talk about our day. On cold evenings we sit by the fireplace and when it’s warm you’ll find us on the patio. Aaaah.

10. What is a favorite “God moment” you’d like to share? – The Sunday before Rev had very risky heart surgery, our head pastor invited the congregation to join us at the front of the church to lay hands on Rev and pray over our family. I don’t believe anyone remained in their seat, and Pastor Greg prayed and pleaded with God to “spare Blake’s life.” That moment partners with seeing him alert and smiling after surgery. Glory to God.

11. What is your favorite book of the Bible? – I love the Book of John. It is such an intimate look at the life of Jesus. If I could add a couple more I would include Psalms and Romans. I think these books are the best at showing us just how much God loves us.

Well, that was fun!

Once again, a huge thank you to Joan giving me this virtual hug. Make sure you take a few minutes to visit her at The Beauty in His Grip. She will surely bless you.

And now I get to choose my 5 recipients of The Liebster Award. Ta Da…

  1. Great insights on you, Deb. I absolutely love that pic of Sadie. I will wait to answer the questions a while since I just wrote about some random facts about me. I didn’t know you liked red/purple. 🙂

    1. Thanks Mel! We are having so much fun with her. I really like all the jewel tones, but red and purple are my favorites. 🙂

  2. Ooooh! I just loved learning more about you, Deb! I would love to sit down sometime on the porch with you just share some smiles and laughs! Thanks for accepting the award and for the constant encouragement you share through your blog! If I were to choose one time of the day, I think it would be dawn! I am a morning person and watching the sun rise and hearing the birds wake up is glorious!

    Blessings & love, Joan

    1. Thanks Joan. Thank you so much for reaching out with some blogger love. We would have fun gabbing. I would love that.

Mornings are beautiful and I wish I were more of a morning person. I tend to lean a little more toward the night owl side. Isn’t it fun to learn how uniquely made we are. Glory to God!!
